Yeah, he just bent the line to connect it. Same thing. So does the aspirator 4 hose assembly basically get deleted?
Yes.

BmacIL, If the aspirator only serves to work for an automatic car, why would a manual car have one? Also I am about to install my '18 manifold with the IMRC's working and I am wondering if you know the proper routing for the vacuum lines for functioning IMRC's? I assume that the nipple you have marked as vac #1 would be the line from the CAI to the IMRC actuator on the back. is there another vac line that needs to run to the back of the manifold? I also assume all the other vac lines connect the same as if IMRC's were locked out.

Because to avoid complexity in the engine plant, they put it on all of them. On the Bullitt and GT350 engines, which are special build, they still use the aspirator but have fewer inputs to it.

For functioning IMRC routing, check out the recent posts in the 18 manifold thread.

Can an automatic car ditch the aspirator? Just going to run a new line from booster to vac 1, and use vac 2 for boost manifold. Getting rid of purge valve too. Imrc locked out and removed too.

What’s the point of the aspirator?

The aspirator is there to provide another source of vacuum for the booster and to have a common location for IMRC vacuum on the 15-17 setup. The second source for the booster is for automatic cars to provide more assist for the pedal when idling at a stop in D. It reduces the pedal effort to stay stopped.

Gotcha. Also found out messing with it last night it’s a check valve. Good for my boosted application to keep boost from the brake booster. Just using 2 ports on it to feed the booster.
