Hey Guys,

I've been looking for a while for a '18+ with the right options that I want, and basically this is the only one within 100 miles of Chicago that is optioned the way I want.

2018 Mustang GT MSRP is $42,470

The car has these options all of which I want, and nothing that I don't aside from color not being my first choice.
Orange Fury paint (not my first choice.. 4th actually)
A10
301A package
Black accent package
3.55 rear gear option
Active exhaust

Now all of this next information is all through email, I've never called them directly. The current incentives for the 18's are $2500 rebate, so we're at 39,970 automatically. Of course I asked for their "best price" if they wanted to get it off the lot and they came back with $37,7xx. So after seeing this I responded back to them that they are basically selling the car for just over invoice, and that I can get Y/Z pricing due to the fact my brother works at the Ford plant in Louisville KY, and since I can already get the car for under invoice and all incentives being that I have Y/Z pricing, I could go to my local dealer who's only 3 miles away and either order a 2019 with only $1 difference in incentives, or I could have them get your car in a dealer trade (this dealer I'm talking to is 70 miles away) and they get the sale, you just have more inventory. And I ended with, what can you do to sway me from making a 3 mile trip to a 70 mile trip. After a day I received an email from the head guy at the dealership, and offered to sell the car at $36,262.64 plus TTL.. which is another 1500 off of their initial "best price". It was never stated if this is Y/Z pricing or just them knocking the price down more. So right now I'm $6,208 off of MSRP. I also have a $1k Ford credit (can't be used with Y/Z price). So I have to find out if that price is Y/Z price or not, because if it's not then I could have an additional 1k off.

But with that said for the above optioned car that retails at $42,470.. and they are at $36.262 would you guys pull the trigger? Or push to try to go lower. Oh and I'm also doing 3rd party financing.

Thanks,
Nate

>>> $42,470.. and they are at $36.262 <<<

If it were me I'd tell em' I asked for a QUOTE,, not to tell me a joke ...

Granted pricing is regional, and depending on how long the cars been sitting, here in the southeast prices on the 18's are starting to drop like rocks ,,

With 8+-k off base the M6 GT's are getting close to 28K,

So extrapolating from there,
Base car .. $28.5k
301A ...... $1900
A10 ........ $1550
Blk Pkg .... $950
Active Exh .. $850
3.55 ... $350
........... So remembering the first and really only rule in negotiating [other than walking away, ] is, the first guy who talks ... looses ... 20% off MSRP should be your starting point... $33,750 would be a low ball price point for me today ..... If you really want it, ... $34,750 ..

Yes, it's best to get your financing 1st and take a check to the dealer and tell em' I'm here to buy ... all you gotta do is meet my price and endorse the check ...

Good luck
