Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this to happen in an A10 transmission? Previously has had adaptive transmission reset to fix, then was at the dealer being torn apart and ended up completely replacing a valve body, iirc (7000 miles ago), and now here I am at the same place with harsh shift to drive again. Does anyone know if there's an underlying issue that I could look at to solve this more permanently?

A lot of folks having hard/clunky shift issues with their A10 seems to be the fluid is too low from factory/dealership. You could. start there. If it happened once it could happen again. Good luck

Difficult to say but is your idle speed a little high? Looks like 850rpm or so in which case there would be more torque going into the box so a shunt is to be expected. It will certainly do it at fast idle after a cold start.

Mine has always been like that - it is a big engine with a lot of torque.
