that's fine. you don't have to see my argument. its my opinion. ive heard them in person too. to me they sound just as bad.

yeah, I know they will run high 12s with a tune, and the AT trans. I havnt seen many guys with MT cars running all that fast. no way in hell i'd ever purposely buy a AT performance car...even if it is quicker in the 1/4. the nice thing about the v6 is that it makes good low end tq, and its also very fun to drive around town. its my car, and I love it. its your car and you love it.

that wasn't the price of the upgrade I saw. that point is mute though. not like that matters to me at this point. I rented a EB on a work trip after I bought my v6, and I had no regrets. I still love my v6. too each his own. not sure why eb guys are over here trolling the v6 forum anyways :p :p :p

in all seriousness, we all love our cars, and really that's what matters. if we meet up at a 1/4 mile track, yeah, im gunna get my ass handed to me..oh well. just like youll get your ass handed to you by "X" car. theres always a faster car out there. I got over that a long time ago, and just started driving what I wanted to drive, and stopped caring about being the fastest. cause lets face it, theres some stupid fast cars out there these days. cant beat them all. the important part is that you enjoy your ride. I look forward to everytime I start it up, and that's what counts to me.

Does the big turbo kit come with an upgraded IC? If it does that cost is pretty impressive. You would need to consider the EB 1500 dollar premium over the V6, but even so you would save 1000 over the V6+ProCharger. If you need other items like an IC though your going to eat into that savings, at which point I would say both options are comparable.

your right there. it would be a wash...but with the v6 youd have about 80 or more hp over the upgraded eb. and how long is that poor little 2.3 gunna last pushing 23-24lbs of boost??

lets just end this right now.. we'd all be driving gt's if we could afford it...anybody that says otherwise is full of it haha. eb guys probably just mad cause gt guys go trolling in the eb forum :p

EB was built for FI, V6 wasn't. Peak HP means nothing, it's all the space under the curve. The V6 takes forever to build torque in comparison. GT guys don't have much to say since most modded EBs will easily run with a stock GT

Also an IC costs $500. Got mine for much less

I guess we're just going to pretend the dragstrip section doesn't exist

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16741

Also noticed that the best that procharged v6 could do was 12.6 with head work and drag radials. That's a pretty standard time for an EB with tune and DRs. Not trolling just commenting on a forum which I've been on for quite a while now. If you don't want to discuss performance then the mods section is probably not the one you want

To say the V6 isn't built for boost is absurd. It is the same block and crank as the 3.5 Ecoboost.

There are plenty of S197 procharged V6s around. There are also procharged S197 V6s in the 11s. in addition to the crank the rods are forged from powdered metal I believe. Adding the IC brings the cost of both options within $500, so either is a valid choice. I guess my point is you can't dismiss big turbo EB vs. procharged V6 out of hand.

It still isn't prepped for boost the way the 2.3 in the mustang is because ford didn't put the 3.7 in the V6 mustang with the intention of boosting it themselves. This is a good write up for the EB (not to get this way off topic) http://www.full-race.com/articles/Mustang-EcoBoost-Drivetrain.php

"First used in the Lincoln MKC crossover, this 2.3L I4 is based on the same 2L Duratec engine architecture as the 240hp 2.0L EcoBoost engine found in Focus ST and Fusion. However, this unique 'stroker' 2.3L motor is heavily fortified in almost every way to make more reliable horsepower in the high performance Mustang application. It represents the state-of-the-art for production engines and may prove to be the strongest and most robust turbocharged inline-4 GDI motor we've seen yet"

Also I believe the V6 rods are forged from powdered metal if I recall correctly and not cast. Besides you wont be in boost all day and then its like 8 psi. Obviously the EB is meant to take a beating, I don't think either engine is prone to easy failure.

i never said the eb isnt a impressive little motor....i just couldnt stand driving one.

the 3.7 imo is just as impressive with quite a bit of tech built in. its also a very strong motor...ever see the vids of those guys running 11-12psi turbo setup aaand nitrous...on a bone stock motor...beating gtr's vettes ect. they were making upwards of 700hp...they were trying to find the breaking point....and to my knoledge havnt yet. sorry but the 2.3 wouldnt get there without major mods

Haven't seen those myself, but I'm sure it can. Lethal performance is at 544/614 on the stock EB motor at 42psi though with their kit

I like the V6 better. Don't like the idea of going overboard on aftermarket power with my cars.
