Long delay, Quick turn around

My order process was a hell ride too. I ordered the car in July and, since the order wasn't actually placed with Ford yet, I kept changing the add-ons I wanted. I asked repeatedly if any of these changes were going to alter my place in line and was assured they wouldn't. I found out later that it did. :paddle:

When it FINALLY went into production on 11/17 I was given a EDD of 01/15/15! WTF!!!!!

I went into panic mode because my current lease needed to be returned 11/27/14 - and that was with an extension. I called the GM at my dealership and got him on it. Great guy, very responsive and got things moving more in my favor. The best thing I ever did was go to the largest Ford dealership in the world (yes, literally, they are the number one dealership worldwide) so they had some influence at Ford and got my car on the first train out of town right after it was built. :clap2:

My car was built on 11/24, was Awaiting Shipment on the 24th and was In Transit on the 24th. That changed my EDD from 01/15/15 to 12/10/14! I just checked cotusb a minute ago and got a new update on EDD - 12/09! Another day sooner. :headbang: It's been five roller coaster months but the end is in sight. I'm now tracking the car on its rail car across the U.S. So far it's made it to Indiana.

I'll post pics when it arrives. CAN'T WAIT!!

I do live in Florida. So for the above plan (looks like everything is covered), the 'standard' price for a 60,000 mile extend service plan on a 2015 Mustang GT is $975 + a one time non-reoccurring fee of $50?
Cost would be $975. The $50 is your deductible every time the coverage is used.

Extended warranties are tough. Realize that some of the is overlapping Ford coverage. The 3/36,000 is bumper to bumper but the powertrain is 5/60,000 (as is roadside assistance). A lot on their list is already covered for 5/60,000 by Ford.

Knock on wood never had to use the warranty on my 2009 that's being traded in. Rotors/pads and oil changes and that's it.

$1,025 is a lot. If you need a starter say, you could get one locally for like $200 (shouldn't need more than 1 if that in 7/60,000). You can fix a lot for $1025.

I now have an EDD/clock countdown on COTUS "again". Order 05/20

AS 10/28, INTRANSIT 10/29, rcvd at MI Railyard 10/31 and stay there
(Q/C????). On 11/21 COTUS deleted EDD/clock countdown-------FORD
SERVICE nor dealer had any info. Lost count of how many times I ck
COTUS; on11/29 (1215 AM MI time--3 hrs ahead of Las Vegas), a EDD
of 12/10 reappeared on COTUS--of course after checking today it now
reads 12/11. I'm just glad I have something to stare at again.

I found a really nice acceleration test video of the 2015 GT here:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIgejAV07TA

I really like time stamp 3:05 to 3:58. It kind of shows you how to shift gears to maximize the power transfer to the wheels. Can't wait to try it when I finally get my new car in just over 2 weeks (15 days left on cotusb.ford.com) after the first 1000 miles 'break-in' period.

I stopped by my dealer today to get a paper that shows my total purchase price with my name on it so I can get my new car loan. The sales guy I previously dealt with went to used car sales and there was a new guy. He looked in the computer for my order and said it was deleted and not showing up! I felt like telling him, "I expect that from your dealer - did you pocket my $1000 deposit?", but instead, I told him I have the original paperwork in my car and I brought it to him so he could re-enter me in the system. While he was entering me back into the system, I told him the story about how I have been waiting since May for my car. It felt good to let somebody at that dealer know how I felt I was mistreated. He printed out my purchase agreement and I left. Only 15 days ... that video above looks sooooo good right now....

Only 3 days left before I get my new 2015 Mustang GT that I ordered back in May! I thought it would never happen!! I've been seeing 2015 Mustang GTs out on the road daily now. Really feel sold out by my dealer, but at least the time has finally come!!!

Estimated delivery updated to 12/20/14. If I get my car on 12/20/14 and I first walked into this dealer around 5/25, that means I've been waiting 209 days or 6 months, 25 days!

Where's my award for being the most patient?

OMG! My car finally arrived at the dealer. I asked them if they could give me something for free like window tint for waiting so long but they said no. I asked if I could get the EAA $750 discount that I had a membership to that expires on 1/5/15 and gave them the printout with all of the information as well as my EAA ID, but they could not find program ID 34810 as eligible even though I had the printout saying it should be on this vehicle! Ford eligibility department was closed at 5PM EST, so I will call them tomorrow morning to confirm eligibility. After waiting 7-months to get my car, what's another day? Hoping to get my rebate tomorrow when I pickup my car after getting the issue cleared up with Ford.

I picked up my car yesterday. I had to pay for the window tint myself. The transaction went smoothly. The sales guy asked if I had a good experience and I told him no because I had to wait forever. He told me that it wasn't his fault that I had to wait 7 months for my car, it was Ford's fault for not delivering the car sooner. Thank goodness I could track my car myself on COTUS and knew what the real story was. He said "all of our custom orders get the highest priority". I had no words to express to him how ridiculous and deceitful that comment was, so I just thanked him for his time and got out of there as fast as possible, never to go back to that dealer again.

My car is really fast and clean. I've had it up to about 105 MPH today. It was a real pain to get, but I am really happy with it. Good job Ford!

I'm curious about the language appearing in the screen captures above. It says "Vehicle images displayed are computer generated graphics and are not photos of the vehicle ordered. They are only a facile and may not exactly represent your vehicle."

"Facile?" Really? Facsimile, perhaps? :dunno:

My dictionary defines "facile" as follows:

facile |ˈfasəl|
adjective
1 (esp. of a theory or argument) appearing neat and comprehensive only by ignoring the true complexities of an issue; superficial.
• (of a person) having a superficial or simplistic knowledge or approach : a man of facile and shallow intellect.
2 (of success, esp. in sports) easily achieved; effortless : a facile victory.
• acting or done in a quick, fluent, and easy manner : he was revealed to be a facile liar.

Doesn't anyone proof read their work anymore?

You do not have to pay tax on Extended warranties. I work for a company that sells extended warranties and I can say this with 100% certainty.
