2015 Mustang INTERIOR Pictures

That makes absolutely no sense, sounds like something Ford's pr team would say to justify cost cutting by the bean counters. I don't see cheap interiors on other vehicles costing 50k and upwards, there's simply no excuse in this era for this, and part of the reason American cars have been criticized for crappy interiors. I am not willing to accept mediocrity or excuses from Ford, if I pay 50k for a car, it better have an interior that is up to par. Take a look at the new Challenger interior, I'm not a fan of it's overall look, but it looks to be made of much higher quality materials all around.

It's not ridiculous, they are very similar and materials are NOT better, there's still volumes of that same cheap hard black plastic everywhere, in some areas it's an improvement, in others it took a step back in my opinion. People shouldn't have to accept crummy interiors in 2015 just because they are buying an American car, we should demand nothing but the best From Ford.

The S550 definitely DOES have more quality materials. If you can't recognize that, I'm sorry, but there's no helping you. Where are these "volumes" of cheap hard black plastic you refer to as being "everywhere?" The center console I'll grant you (though I think even that is still improved over the outgoing model). But pretty much everywhere else that matters is leather, aluminum, high quality soft stitched vinyl, etc.

Obviously you're not down with the aesthetic and don't "get" the aviation cockpit inspired design that Ford was going for. It's fine if you don't like it -- you have a right to your opinion -- but to try to claim it offers no improvement in quality over the outgoing model is just downright wrong, and I think it's pretty safe to say you are in the minority in taking that position.

Also not sure why you keep coming up with this $50K comparison. It will be tough to get a Mustang with every possible option to tip 50K. Yet anything else that would offer remotely similar performance usually will START well above that price point. You can't expect $60K level performance and quality in EVERY aspect of the car... for $45K.

I'm sorry, but it seems to me that you are simply expecting too much and have lost touch with what the Mustang's heritage is about (or maybe you didn't know enough about its heritage to begin with). Its heritage is about being an exceptional performance value. If you ask me, Mission = Accomplished... again. It just so happens that Ford have managed to also raise the bar in quality of almost every aspect of the vehicle along the way.

Have you actually sat in a S550 and felt the materials or you basing this off of complete conjecture and pictures? I'll take the word of a guy who actually tested the cars and said:

As for the interior, the driver said it’s “a big improvement in fit/finish, and the materials was great”, although the cabin still had “a few pre-production parts”.

"Inside, the Ford team strove to make big leaps in quality and connectivity to appeal to more of the atypical Mustang buyers, yet the interior carries very familiar design themes. The dash and IP shape is still influenced by the ’67-’68 models, and the trim levels of the cars we observed included engine-turned plastic (?) that looked pretty cool. The materials quality seemed about the same to us, or a notch above, with the exception of the row of paddle switches at the bottom center of the dash, which struck us as more than a little Mattel."

There have been a lot of comments discrediting the review and so on, but this still worries me a bit. I was not very happy with the current Mustang interior. I sure hope this guy is wrong. I can't wait to sit in one and find out for myself.

Ford has to skimp some where to keep the car affordable. GM does this as well, as other car makers to keep things affordable to their target audience.

The aftermarket will come up with some things most assuredly.

If you want fine appointed materials go buy a porsche, BMW, ect... the interior will be much better, and you get the same amount of performance. The issue will be how much your willing to pay for it.

Nobody beats Audi when it comes to interior build quality and materials. Their technical reliability is beyond shit but their interiors are superb.

Maybe you mean in its class? Sit in a Maserati (and other high end brands) and you will forget Audi existed (at least IMO). New Mercedes interiors as well will be amazing.
