2015 GT350 Opportunity

It's a hard pill for me to swallow. Has nothing to do with finances just thinking am I willing to pay that much over sticker for a car. Rare? Yes. Possibly collector car worthy? Maybe. I know that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and if I can get the ADM down to what I feel is reasonable I will put my name on the dotted line. I hope they aren't miss informed because I kind of have my hopes up for this one. Once I find out what the deal is I'll make a new post about it. Thanks man!!:cheers:

If this is a 2015 model and you pass on it I would suggest that you would have a lot of people on this forum that would ask for the dealer info?

There is a certain limit as far as ADM goes and I think everyone can agree that there are some that are just to astronomical to consider i.e. 20k+. 10k is pushing it and 5k for a 2015 is pretty decent. If I am able to I'd love to keep this car and hand it down to my future children. Even if it is not a 2015 and is just a mistake I am more than happy to tell everYone which dealership I have been working with because of how great they've treated me and fair their pricing is. If anyone wants to know the dealership info PM me and I'm more than happy to tell.

Stand your ground. Depending on your income, you might still lose sleep at $5000 over.

Your in the bag at this point, you have a 2016 waiting so buying pressure should be off. See what you can do and if your comfortable with it. If he doesn't want to budge, just walk away with the '16. I think your in an excellent position and I wouldn't just buy the '16 and not haggle a little on the '15.

Also, just make sure the 2015's are still being produced. I would call Ford's Customer Service or PM the Rep here. Let them know your situation and ask if the 2015 is still running. I would hate for you to get amped for nothing. Not doubting the dealer, just nip that in the bud right at the source. I seen someone above speculate that maybe the 2015 was done. I'm sure the dealer has updated info though. It's still interesting to see how the '15-'16 changeover will happen.

2016 is suppose to start RIGHT AFTER the last 2015 is made. Maybe your holding up the damn orders :lol:

Bro....5K is a fair ADM for a 2016...its a steal for an investment grade 2015....I see little to know down side....do it....

I'd take the 2015 at 5K. 10K is waaaay too much. Otherwise, a 2016 at sticker is a really sweet consolation prize.

Hey now it aint my fault haha. What is the PM thats on heres name? I will defiantly try and get the ADM down a bit but if it is a 15 I will most likely get it even if he cant come down on the ADM. Thanks for your help!! :cheers:

That's an issue I have with collectors. Cars, like this Shelby, are meant to be driven and enjoyed. Those 37 Rs will probably sit in a garage or shop never to see the light of day until they are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. If I say one of the 37 Rs I'd probably shit a brick. Yeah the 2015s are special because of limited production but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be driven regularly. Just my opinion. :cheers:

Your right !!..Im just saying about the ADM....personal I would enjoy the 2015 for 2 years and then put it away for the kids..great kids etc....but if you just want to enjoy the car and not worry about miles etc...get the 2016

You make a fair point. What I may end up doing is using this car as a day for a while the get a f150 as a daily and use the 15 as a weekender. Still unsure.

Personally I wouldn't pay over MSRP, I would just pickup a 2016 especially since you are going to drive it. I am not aware of anyone paying a large ADM and it has worked out financially. In a couple of years, Ford will introduce something better that everyone will want and the 2015 will be old news. Look at the Boss 302's, people paid big ADM's to get one early and they are mostly forgotten with the GT350. You kinda have to step back from the hype and look at history, if you want to pay $5K-$10K to drive one a month early, it is up to you but don't think it will be worth that much more years from now when Ford is producing lots of 2016 and 2017 models (maybe with better colors and options) and newer offerings that are more exciting than a used 2015.

That's another thing I was thinking about. The Laguna Seca editions while outdated are holding their value better which leads me to believe that a 2015 will do the same. Maybe not 5-10k over will be worth it. I am going to make a deal with him today no matter what. I will push for a 2015 at sticker since my dad is going to buy a f350 platinum the the soon. Maybe make a package deal.

I completely agree with this - if the OP intends to drive the car, the collectability/future value proposition is diminished greatly. The collectors who will care about a 2015 car 10-20 years from now will want a low mile / shrink wrapped car to pay top dollar.

Having said that, everyone has different values and perspective on things like this. It's your money - use it how you wish.
