They always need a handicap! Look at nascar, the car of tomorrow was and is a joke. That all got started with the endless rule concessions for gm. All the different motors gm was allowed to use. SBC, SB2 and variations plus the SBF wanna be.....I could go on a rant! Let's just say that every major series let's them do what ever. Many of us hoped that EMC would be one way of proving that Ford was the one's that got it right. But this has proven to be no longer true.:ford:

Meh, those engines are so far removed from what any of us would put in a street car I don't see that it matters. Good luck fitting Kaase's 4V headers into anything but a dyno cell...

The competition is good for development and engine builder advertising...it's less about bragging rights of one OEM, imo...hell, how many OEM parts are actually used in most cases?

The Mod Motors you speak of mainly used stock parts. Those headers only added a few extra hp over the second place entry. Kaase's entry actually used a production intake...NO KIDDING....! Stock Heads, Stock Block, Stock Valvetrain with the stroke , cams, rods and pistons being the only aftermarket parts. These facts are the main reason why Pro Chevy "Hot Rod" does not and wont do another show down. They cater to chevy and the pro chevy aftermarket. They do not want anybody or anything to change that. With the up and coming 5.2 Voodo. They have much to fear and avoid by not giving the coverage that the ls motor gets from them. Ask yourself this. When was the last time a Mod/Coyote Motor got any love from them and then check out how brief it was? SBF? BBF? Next year will be worse. The 5.2 will be on the market. If they use the traditional rules? HP/CID being the main rule. The Voodo could win while being completely stock other than a set od dyno headers and a open element air filter.

The magazine sells to avg builders...who primarily build pushrod engines. Not many people are opening up Coyote's to build a max effort naturally aspirated combo...thus, builds like this aren't conducive to magazine sales. Bolt ons and blowers...few, if any, internal mods happen for the 4V stuff by the avg enthusiast.

I think calling a thoroughly ported 2000 Cobra R intake a 'production piece' is BS. Calling Yates-prepped Ford GT heads 'production' is BS...they were on a Daytona prototype for f sake.... Do you have any idea how much a custom billet crank costs?!?! Based on how you downplay how exotic these parts are, I'm not sure you're familiar w/ just how much testing goes into these engines, either.

If it were only that easy...

Ported or not? It's still a production piece. Many people are building N/A Mod/Coyote motors now days. Where have you been? The CobraJet intake and cams was designed for N/A applications. Same can be said about the Boss intake. Quite a few people are making 650+hp at the crank with pump fuel. There are several aftermarket companies that supply parts and tunes for them. The Ford GT head is the same head that can be found on the Cobra R with the 5.4! The regular 4valve heads have proved to flow as much after porting. Do some research. As for custom billet cranks? The stock cranks work just fine. There is a certain 5 second stang that proves this. Again research. Custom stroker cranks cost the same for everybody. They banned those motors in all forms including stock displacements....FACT! The amount of testing applies to all brands. The Mod motor has been in production since 1991! No More Excuses! Chevy is allowed to show up with aftermarket everything while Ford is banned from even using their own production parts.....FACT! Your Pro Chevy Bias Runs Deep! Almost As Deep As Your Chevy Butt Hurt! Don't Worry, The Voodo is coming. After talking to the Ford oriented tuners, EMC will not be able to hide anymore. A few of them have already stated that they will run them on a dyno so a comparison can be made to anything that competes in EMC.

You have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly unwilling to be reasonable.

EMC started out as a street oriented contest started by popular hot rodding. Original rules were street based parts. No all out racing parts. 93 octane was mandated. This contest was for street engines. The last few years, many have showed up with one off or heavily modified parts. But for some reason you think that a production intake from Ford is unrealistic. Have you priced the intake found on the 409 chevy from last year? Carbon Fiber? Your just another Pro Chevy, Pro Rule Concession Welfare Advocate. The Mod/Coyote Motors compete in the same market on the same streets. They have almost no aftermarket support but yet they are banned. No more lies, no more hiding and no more media spin.........
