I'm in the process of checking my spark plug gaps as I'm now at 5000 km and would like to carry out a comp test with my snapon tester for a baseline/health check while the plugs are out.

Does anyone know the preferred method to carry out a compression test on these DI engines?

I usually just unplug the injectors and coil packs, hold the throttle at WOT and carry out the test on non DI cars etc. I have heard that when you hold WOT during cranking it automatically keeps the injectors closed on other Ford cars like the Fiesta ST etc?

Any tips appreciated.

Pull all of the plugs out and hold the gas pedal WOT while it cranks. That will keep the injectors from firing (on most newer cars) and is the way to complete your compression test. Make sure the engine is at normal operating temp or close to it for accurate results too.
