Doofus yes, but ramps like those with a little moisture (sidewalk is damp) on the tires are an accident waiting to happen.

+1, i've put a lot of cars on trailers and these style of ramps are the worst especially when you have low tread performance tires. My guess is that the guy driving the car knows that these ramps lack grip so he tried to give it a little extra juice to get it up and the car walked sideways on him.
