19" or 20" for MagneRide suspension?

Hi guys! So im running stock 19" with my 2018 Mustang GT PP1 but im thinking of changes rims.

Will 20" be ok for the MagneRide or 19" is safer / better, not to have problems In the future?

Ford wheels have very little bevel compared to aftermarket wheels. Due to this, the aftermarket retailers say that 20” is the smallest size you can use. Whether or not this is a fact, I do not know more than what I was told. I just know I cannot get any 19” wheels that are rated for the PP1 models.

Forgestar sells GT PP size wheels. I own 2 sets of autocross FS legal sets which fit my 2015 and now my 2018 GT PP. The 18 has MagneRide. Tire Rack shows lots of 19's which fit GT PP. Most are not PP1 size if FS autocross is your concern.

There are literally dozens upon dozens of wheels that fit the PP1 setup. I'd suggest getting in contact with Paul at PK Auto Design for wheels. He's set up hundreds of people.

I am not saying all wheels are built the same, only that in dealing with some vendors, they say not to use their 19” wheels. Also I am looking at a specific style that I have only found in 20” or 18”. Since many vendors do not ask if the wheels are to fit a PP1 vehicle, it is best to be careful about who you get them from.

Either one will be fine, Magride doesn't change anything in terms of sizing. If you go 20s you will have to go with a lower profile, and sacrifice a little ride comfort.

I have an aftermarket set of 19s with the stock Michelins, which are great. Ultimately I will get another set of wider wheels down the track though, and it's a coin toss between 19s or 20s. Springs and sway bars are being installed today, so that will probably govern whether I need the extra sidewall for daily driving

Hey there, I have the exact same car in Magnetic. Which wheel brand/design did you buy, and are they the same offset as the factory Performance Pack wheels (9" fronts with 45mm offset and 9.5" rears with 52.5mm offset)?

I have a set of Koya SF04 in 19x9.5 +30 and 19x10.5 +45.

Thanks, looks sharp. I'm guessing you have less offset to allow for the wider rims. No problems with clearance anywhere?

No clearance issues. These widths are no problem at all. I had 20x9.5 +30 and 20x11 +55 on my last car.
