Sounds very quite in the video. Not sure how accurate that is to the true experience.

The way it sounds in your video, in the cabin, is about how loud I'd want it to sound like.
It is true to life. It is not very loud inside the car. Much louder outside.

Just ordered. Figured 65 bucks isn't a lot so I'll give it a try. I have the MMR intake so we'll see how loud it gets.

That was my thoughts on it. $65 was cheap, and it is an easy install.

it's not going to change performance per say unless the bov is leaking or opening up too soon by not holding boost.

cheap bov or knockoffs are notorious for not holding boost and releasing too easily when barely letting off the throttle.

This is just a base that permits the factory bypass to vent to open. The bypass is electronically controlled by the PCM. It opens quite frequently and easily. However, it is not leaking under WOT.

This isn't a bov... It's simply a plate that allows the stock recirc valve act in a 50/50 manner.

Sorry the way you worded your post made it seem like you thought this was a cheap bov.

For reference, you should embed your video into the OP...

Use the following without spaces:
[u2b ]hcbBzObF66o[ /u2b]

Take your Youtube Video URL, and get the VideoID and put it inbetween those brackets

you don't have to even do all that. just post the actual link. not the share link or mobile link and forums auto embeds it

Hey there! Great write-up! Just wanted to chime in on a couple of things.

This high performance adapter mounts between the OEM bypass valve/solenoid and the mounting bracket on the charge piping, causing the unused charge air to vent to atmosphere (VTA) giving off the well known, but distinct sound all turbo owners know and love! The adapter bolts right in with the included longer bolts, no other modifications or tuning are required. Precision CNC machined out of high quality aircraft grade billet aluminum and available in 4 different colors.

Instructions can be found on our website here: http://www.boombaracing.com/mustang-ecoboost-blow-off-valve-adapter/

EcoBoost motors are known to have blow-by, and by running this product you are helping to reduce this by venting to atmosphere, rather than back into your intake.

There has also been some talk on another thread about this product helping to lower charge temps, although we haven't researched this far enough yet to have concrete evidence.

The following was said by user JerseyDevil:
"There are performance benefits to blowing off the charge vs recirculating on the ecoboost or any turbo car with a pre intercooler bypass valve. The ecoboost bypass valve is located pre intercooler, at tuned boost levels compressor outlet temps are 200+ degrees, when the charge is bypassed this 200 degree charge air is sent back into the intake tract where it puts a thermal load on the intact tract, compressor housing etc then is recompressed into an even hotter charge where it puts a thermal strain on the intercooler.. In a blowoff valve scenario this hot charge is released to atmosphere. boomba just released a bov plate in the vendors section and we have on coming for our car.

As far as the factory bypass valve design is concerned its traditionally a leaker we have seen similar valves to this leak on the BMW and Abarth. The main piston is made of a hard composite that doesn't seal well, we will be testing this on the Ecoboost and reporting the results on this forum.

An optimum system would be to vent the charge off to atmosphere pre intercooler with a large enough valve that will allow the compressor to freewheel, when this occurs the charge stalls in the intercooler and allows additional charge air cooling to occur."

If anyone has any questions about this product whatsoever, feel free to let us know!

Enjoy, happy boostin

has anyone done any testing yet on this BOV versus just disconnecting and plugging the stock BPV? Are there any gains to be had with the Boomba? thanks

Any gains will be minimal at best. It's more of a sound thing. It's not a proper way to improve IAT's nor use as an alternative to a proper PCV/catch can setup.

Mine shows up tomorrow. I had to appease my inner ricer.

It's not a BOV... how many times does it have to be said? It is simply an adapter. If you use this you cannot disconnect and unplug the the stock valve.
