I swore off Ford back in 1989. I drove Germans & Japanese since, but I returned to buy my 2019 Mustang. Let's not let one bad experience sway us. I am impressed with the Mustang, but already noticed minor issue with AC temp coming out of the vents (one vent near the passenger is few degrees hotter). I've experienced small defect or two with every car I owned, especially the kind that are unable to be fixed.

They maybe faulty from a supplier but Ford knowing it's an issue should pay a few more pennies to have a more robust build by the suppliers. Nobody wants to buy a new tight, squeak free vehicle only to have the dash ripped out to replace a defective evaporator, heater core or blend air door and hope for a quiet vehicle with no scratches after.

Ford is really good at ignoring known problems. Why did my 14 stang with 2000 miles, never seen snow, seen rain once have a corrosion spot on hood, when
the problem started in 2005? Do they make a FWD based ecoboost that doesn't eventually leak out the trans, were pass halfshaft exits. I'm 3 for 3 since 2014
(two fusions, one only a year old, and an escape)??

Well the Evaporator has been updated so it shouldn't be an issue with the updated part number. I am sure Ford would have rather had a non defective part due to the cost of warranty work.

I opted for the extended warranty just in case. So far I have not had any out of pocket expenses other than the extended warranty for 710.00 for an additional 3 years up to 60k miles. Sure I have had to visit the dealership a few times for warranty work but I now have new brakes, rotors, and Evaporator for free.

OP, I always tell people to check out the online forum for the car you are going to buy before you purchase. Car specific forums usually give you a good idea of the issues to expect. This saved me from buying a Sebring and 626 back in the day.

These are big companies like the tankers taking miles to turn around. They need to become agile and stop being bureaucratic bloated organization when resolving defects.

2. Reverse lockout collar shattered at 14k
3. Bunch of creaks and rattles.
4. Horn works when it wants to

Im at 27k now and I still love the car despite the poor build quality. It's gone once the 100k extended warranty is up though.

I do not have the specific details about the updated part. I talked to the dealership when mine was replaced and that is what they told me.

Here's the difference between German and American cars. American cars have parts that break under warranty, then you're usually okay. German cars wait until the warranty is over and hit you with the kitchen sink of repairs. Which is worse? I think we all know...

vw eurovans are a great example of that. tranny nightmares just after warranty expires, big bucks to fix. I've driven the hell out of the older vans all over the world
rarely ever had an issue and if you did breakdown in northern Iran or in another part of Godcountry, a rubber band might fix them. sometimes simple can be a life saver!
