I think my 23 GT Premium is doing what yours is. There was nothing wrong with my transmission as it had 550 miles on it at the time. The tune is pretty lame though as it gets confused at light throttle cruise in 7-10. Mine would unlock the converter, retard the timing, and then change its mind and stay in the gear then repeat over and over.
From what I have been told, it is just my transmission adapting to my driving. So I would like to assume thats what is happening for you as well. They did a full reset on it. Told me to give it 1000 miles & if I kept seeing persistent issues, bring it back. I normally drive it in Sport+ so my car is used to me driving in that mode, but any time I drive in any other mode, its back to doing the same stuff as before. 😵💫

Hopefully it’s just the adaptive crap, it also Kinda sounds like it could be the torque converter not locking up when it should. If you have access to some diagnostic tool plug it in and look at the PiD for the converter lockup. 19+ should have it I believe. 2018 for some reason didnt have the point to look at. My car gets goofy if I drive nice all day and then spend 10-20 mins doing pulls and messing around the 4-5 and 5-6 shifts feel like my trans is blown lol.. but it goes back to normal after a little while 😂.
Thats what the dealership told me it was. Adaptive Transmission trying to learn how I drive. I am just riding it out & giving it some more time before I make it their issue again 🙂

Curious if anyone has checked the trans fluid level? They have been known to come from the factory low. They are a PITA to check.

I have a 2022 that I believe has a hesitation in normal drive. Changing to sport it drives like a normal car. It is a growling butta butta sound until I gas it. Hate the indecision of it. Paddle member said it could be my driving habits are causing it. Someone on Reddit had a PCM update and it cleaned it up. Sound right? Car is going in for updates and ford reward points for oil change and inspection. Don't think it is normal for whatever it is trying to do. Dealer has to drive it with me to see. Great car when I kick its ass with the pedal!

I’m becoming convinced that the 10R80 hates being driven gingerly and prefers being beat like a pack mule. Try driving in hard for 2-3 weeks in Sport+ where it will hit every gear instead of skip-shifting. I did that to my ‘22 HPP two summers ago and it made a HUGE positive difference in overall shift q uality, even when soft-shoeing it around town.
Thanks Trueblue22. I'll give a hardass sport mode for awhile and see if it helps. Been to easy on this car. Its an animal! Wanted a blue but wife wanted red. That's the way it is.

Why would the dealer make you park the car there until they get to it (4-8 wks?!?). That's BS, especially if the car is driveable. Get them to supply a loaner then, on their dime, or, go to another dealer.

I said the same thing. They are so backed up that they wouldn’t be able to give me a loaner, & if it was deemed as the manufacturers issue after it sitting there for 6-8 weeks, then they would give me a rental car. But that would be after I hadn’t had my car for 6-8 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️

That stinks, I can't believe they don't have a loaner, heck, even if it's a used trade in whatever. My warranty States I WILL get a loaner on warranty work. Is yours still under any waranty? If not, ignore my comments.
I just reread your post, you did by it used, so you're probably S.O.L. with a loaner, unless you bought an aftermarket warranty that covers loaners, which most don't.

It is still under warranty. Has 2 more years & only has 14,000 miles on it. They said it would take 6-8 weeks for them to even be able to diagnose it. No loaner during that time frame as it hasn’t been classified as a manufacturing warranty issue yet.

Well, drive it like you stole it then. When the tranny explodes, then they'll give you a loaner.:):):)
