1-4 skip shift

I noticed on my Bullitt sometimes going from 1st to 2nd it goes into 4th like the GM skip shift manuals but the Bullitt goes into it smoothly while GM is notchy. There is nothing on the Ford site about it, Is it me or does it have it.

Hi Steve - There is no skip shift, but what it does tell you is that you can easily skip gears with impunity with this car such as 1st to 3rd to 5th or 6th or perhaps start in 2nd and go to 4th then 6th or whatever combo you like. I do that frequently with my GTO 4 speed - 1st to 3rd to 4th. Recently during my recovery from left knee arthroscopy I have been skipping gears frequently to avoid knee stress. Occasionally when I first got the car I sometimes ended up in 4th when going from 5th to 6th. Different brands of shifters can behave differently until you adapt to them. There’s always the chance you got a faulty shifter, but not likely... Bruce
