Power is going to do next to nothing for 0-60 buddy. Thats all about traction and getting the 1-2 shift perfected.

Its 0-100 and 1/4 mile where additional power comes into play, 0-100 of 9.1s is really moving some and show there is a good chunk of extra power there and of course the auto shifts faster and perfect everytime unlike a human, best I've done is 9.9s with my old man shifting, on a manual its all down to how aggressive or shall we say abusive you want to get with the box and clutch.

Because like I said, power comes into play at higher speed and higher gears.

Off the line the most important factors are traction and gearing.

A GTR is so fast because it has AWD as it needs it, one of the fastest smartest gearboxes on the planet and power.

But in short a GTR weighs more than a Mustang, the first revisions had only around 50HP more but they could do 60mph in sub 3s on regular road tyres.

My mate took his GTR from 480HP upto 630HP, his 0-60 times dropped from 2.9s to 2.8s, however his 0-100 times dropped from 7.5s down to 6s and his quarter mile went from 11.5@122mph down to 10.8@130mph. Mac's Mustang is lighter, has 200HP more but the GTR will kick its ass in a race from a dig, now from a roll things get different.

Another way to look at it, Mac has 850HP, his best 0-60 is like 4.6s and he loves raping his box, but his 0-100 is like 7s down from over 10s

There are guys getting 4.3s from stock Mustangs with no tune!

If my Mustang was all of a sudden a rental one tomorrow, I am sure I could go under 4.5s, power does little for 0-60.

Lets see the 0-100 times, Enoch has set the benchmark for an auto at 9.1s and I am at 9.9s for a manual.

Or run it down the Pod at Ford Fest, see what your terminal time is as that is best indication of power.

As the saying goes, power is nothing without traction.

Why congratulate anyone for getting a 4.6 or 4.7, yes the driver has skill, but its zero proof of power just that the driver got a good launch and got the gears banged in. Plenty on these forums doing such times and faster on stock cars who have no mechanical sympathy.

I think Mac got a 4.5
Just congratulate the 4.6 and under. Not 4.7's as they don't count.

Well ive dropped from 305 35 20.mpss to 325 30 19 cup 2 michelin so will give it a go when weather improves see the results.

Kind of proves my point, 0-60 proves fuck all about power. A 300HP Impreza is quicker to 60 than an 850HP Mustang! Yet out on the road Mac's car would leave that Impreza for dust.

LOL at the 4.7's not counting!

The only person I am congratulating is Enoch and Mac, they've both done 0-100 times which is where power comes into play and have both posted impressive results.

Funny they are both on Lund tunes too, lets see those 0-100 times DS guys. ;)

hmmmm tomorrow i hope is gonna be 0-100 then guys ?

Right kev,del,geo,henry after yer fancy indicators are on and my silly scoops bolted down where we going to get a shot at this ? weathers to be 17 cloudy with abit of sun thrown in for good measure. Whose got a footpump ;) and 5/6 bags of cement we can all share about :crazy:
