After installing Stage 2 our our project Ecoboost shop car, we were honestly shocked by how obnoxious the exhaust note became. It was unbelievably loud, at all times including idle, and would rattle windows under full throttle.

We took matter into our own hands, and using a simple Vibrant 3" Ultra Quiet resonator the car is literally night and day. Its extremely civilized at idle, no more drone anywhere, and the exhaust note is very very nice at WOT. One of my favorite changes we have done yet.

Side benefit, you get rid of that stupid 2.25" factory neck down. Running a 3" full exhaust but it necks down to 2.25" in the middle. You are running a 2.25" exhaust..:)

We are running the 3" ATP downpipe so all we had to do were put a V-band to match the downpipe, and it become plug, and play

Basic steps to implement this are.
Buy the resonator link below
Buy the Vband clamp depending on what DP you run
Buy the 3" flat clamp
Have the V-band welded to the Resonator
Measure the exhaust, and cut it off the Resonator is designed for 3" tubing to slip into it
Slide the pipe side in
Button up the V-band,
Install the flat clamp, and enjoy your new found exhaust note.

Said it in every exhaust sound post. Video of exhaust notes are beyond pointless. You can hear nothing of what it exactly sounds like. If you don't like the way your car sounds, or it's too loud, give this a try. It's around $100 in parts. If you don't want to than don't. Simply sharing my experience. Not trying to sell anyone anything.

I have a 3" single exhaust with a standard round Vibrant resonator and a single Magnaflow muffler. Love the way it sounds, but it is a bit loud. You think the ultra quiet resonator is a lot quieter than the regular round one?

The ultra quiets are really nice, they kill the tone quite a bit, but keep it sounding good. Should be a bolt on affair for you, just pull the normal one out, swap the UQ in.

I second the sound with the UQR from vibrant. I'm running a single 3" stainless thin wall exhaust and it does get a tad loud towards the end of an 8 hour drive, but I can barely hear it at the track compared to any of my old cars.

Vibrant parts in general seem to makes really good sound tones for this car. Forum user Stormtrooper has or had a full Vibrant setup with 2.5" resonator and mufflers and it is VERY similar to the tone you get from the Livernoi and Stainless Wrks systems which are the only two companies that stand out to me when it comes to good sound from this motor. Everything else sounds like variations of the same thing.

Anyways not to make it an exhaust sound thread. Someone else I saw had the Magnaflow system mated to a Vibrant resonator and sounded good. If you're piecing together and exhaust or have drone at a certain spot of RPM on the highway, Vibrant resonators seem to be a good, inexpensive choice.

So this thing installs where the downpipe connects to the cat-back? I'm running a MAP 3inch downpipe with a Magnaflow Street series.

Correct, it gets rid of that 2.25" neck down as well

A non obnoxious sound combined with 380whp on 93 octane sounds good to me. Are you trying to make me spend more money Tony?

It might not be "accurate" but I don't think it's pointless..

Could you just humor us and post it anyway? would be great..

With a high quality recording you can get a good idea of how an exhaust sounds. My MBRP race cat-back pretty much sounded exactly the same in person as it did in the video. the ONLY thing I couldn't hear in video's is how loud it gets inside the car when at WOT.

Its an MBRP Street. Basically with stage 2 installed, it got very loud, with the resonator in place, it sounds exactly like it did with the stock turbo. It just knocked down the noise level. So MBRP street exhaust is how is sounds currently.

we have the same set up except you have the stage 2 turbo. I think I may end up doing this if the noise is too loud. I went to the MBRP street from flowmaster because of the drone and how loud it was.
