Redline Goods Automatic Shift Boot (it's coming!)

Good news for the two-pedal club... I just sent my shift boot out to Redline Goods. Before too long, we should have an option for a replacement. Getting the boot off is quite a few steps, but overall pretty easy. You will need to reattach the boot with glue onto the shifter plate and at the neck ring - but overall should not be difficult at all! :headband:

I'm actually getting it in Alcantara to match my GT350 steering wheel... But with brown stitching that I'll hope is a match for the door panel stitching.

Based on the online samples, "Hazelnut" seems the closest match. You can get actual samples for $15 to compare though

I went through the same process on my MT car. It turned out great. Are you doing the e-brake boot and arm rest cover too?

I am planning to get the handbrake boot to match the shift boot, and the armrest I'll have done in a nicer leather and brown stitching since I think the Alcantara will wear too quickly there.

I just got an email that my new shift boot is departing Poland with a tracking number. Finally, I've been missing the boot on the shifter!

I wonder if you get the manual trim ring if you can use that setup.

The gear markings next to the shifter are the most pointless thing. They dont even tell you what gear you're in- that's on the bottom of dash anyway. They do nothing really, and my leather boot is scuffing the black off of the very edge of the black plastic on the left of the shifter where the gears are marked.

Well, I finally got the boot on yesterday, and it looks fantastic! I will be writing up the install procedures for Redline and hopefully they'll have it for sale soon!

The install does involve glue, I used 3M's Super 77 adhesive sprayed into a dish and spread on, you may choose something else if you wish. I don't have data on the long-term durability of this glue on this type of application yet, though I used it on my Fiesta's armrest for the RLG leather cover and it held up excellently.

It's Alcantara to match the steering wheel, and with brown stitching to match the door panels, exactly what I said it'd be...
