I ordered/received some interior pieces from Redline Goods about a month ago. I had a little spare time and decided to start the process.
I ordered a shift boot, a park brake boot, a centre console/armrest cover and knee pads/bolsters. All in black perforated leather and alcantara.
So far I have done the armrest, one knee pad and working on the second one.
For the arm rest, I ordered the cover without and padding, thinking I wouldn’t need it...... that was a mistake. So when I removed the original cover, with the thin foam padding sewn in, I quickly realized I needed something to place on the console cover, under the new cover to make it more comfortable. I decided on a thin piece of foam I removed from a soft body laptop carrying case. It’s about a 1/4 inch thick and compressed very well. So I sprayed the console cover and foam padding with glue and basically rolled the foam onto the cover. (No pics..... sorry). The foam overlap was cut with scissors... turned out very well.
I then massaged/stretched the Redline cover over the console until I got it placed properly. Then spray glued one end, stretched it and glued the other end. Then did the same with the sides.
I am very pleased with how the cover turned out. I highly recommend RedLine if anyone is “On the fence”
Here are a couple of pics of the completed console cover and an “almost” finished knee pad. I also included the original cover for a comparison. Hope to get it all finished over the next month or so. I am in no hurry, as my car is winter parked.
These coverups will match the interior of my CS wonderfully
