I upgraded my firmware on the nGauge tonight and while screwing around with the menu in it I fudged something with the car. Ended up having to flash the stock file back on and then reloaded the Lund tune. The WOT shifting of the car felt way more aggressive after the flash. Enough so that my GF pointed it out before I even said anything. It's shifting much harder but it feels like its slipping and then banging into gear. I've never had a tuned auto before but something doesn't feel quite right about it. Then we pull up to the house and the GF makes a comment about her purse being really hot from sitting on the floor where the carpet curves up to the center console. I checked and that area was definitely too hot for inside the cabin. The Transmission oil temp showed 201 which is normal. I noticed an odd smell from under the car as well. It's dark now so I'll check on the trans fluid in the morning. I'll check the exhaust heat shielding around that area as well. Just wondering if anyone has had something similar happen. Thanks all.

a tune isn't going to make the floor of the car hotter.

as far as shifting, when you flash the car, it does start the learning process over

Thanks. The only reason I was thinking the floor would get hot is if the trans is slipping a ton creating excess friction that might heat up that area. But I don't know exactly where the trans is in relation to that area. Might not be in that area at all. Was trying to eliminate possible options.

Maybe your GF left something on in her purse?

Funny you say that. I thought it was her cell phone over heating at first because she was having problems with that but this was too hot for even that. I have since re-flashed the tune again and things seem better. The shifting issue (or what I felt was an issue)has resolved itself. It's a good reminder that electronics have their quarks and sometimes they just need to be rebooted or reset.
