I think I would have noticed this if it was like this when I bought it...

Must be the mbrp exhaust? I Just noticed while washing it last weekend after my 1000mile reno/mono lake/yosemite road trip.

Now if I could just figure out what this piece is called so I can order a new one...

I'm going to play with the alignment of the tips and see if I can increase the gap between the body a bit.

Same thing happened to mine. But haven't had time to take it to the dealer.

I have a Gibson catback. I wonder if they'll say anything about that

Chances of that happening are slim to none.

Yep, same thing here also. left side only. Took it off and bent it back with a heat gun.

Happened twice. Tips were flush to begin with like yours. I had to slide them out about an inch before it stopped melting the reflector.

Tip is too far in. Bring it out a touch.

They may make a fuss if it's melted and there's an aftermarket exhaust making too much heat.

You can always buy the reflector for a whole $30 (there is a different part for the right/left and for coupe vs convertible) http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/P...search=true&year=2015&make=Ford&model=Mustang

You should be able to get on your back and under the read bumper without lifting the car looking up to the rear of the car behind the rear bumper. There's 1 bolt and the reflector clips in. Probably 10 min work if that.

Ordered! Thanks!

Thanks to everyone else for all their input as well. I realized that it was due to the tips being too far in as mentioned, and never happened before because i never spent any time in traffic before the Fourth of July weekend roadtrip. During that trip I spent many minutes if not hours in stop and go so the heat/exhaust was going up into the bumper and cooking the reflector rather than being blown out by turbulence all the other times Id been driving.

Just noticed it was happening on my passenger side with MBRP exhaust. Guess I will have to move the tips even though I love how they sit now.
