Hi guys, I never post on forums, I only like reading what other people say and gather information for my own Mods and proyects... This time, I decided what happened to me (or how things turned out), was somewhat funny and unexpected so I wanted to share.
First thing I like to do to a new car is getting rid off the shitty stock exhaust and getting "the best there is" of a performance exhaust, thing is, I have no patience and the moment I got my 2015 Mustang GT, I started getting exhaust parts. After a little hesitation between FORD RACING BY BORLA or MAGNAFLOW COMPETITION SERIES CAT BACK, I went for the latter and Installed it, honestly, didn't like it that much, fit and looks is superb, the 4.5 tips are huge and they just look damn good! SOUND though was lame, at least to my taste it was way too deep so after a month of doing more research, listening to exhaust notes over and over again on youtube, I did something "crazy", I always go for one single brand for the whole exhaust, this had always made sense to me but since Magnaflow hasn't yet delivered anything but the cat back or axle backs, I decided to get JBA OFF ROAD LONG TUBE HEADERS 1-7/8" (FOR MUSTANG 2011-2014), JBA 3" OFF ROAD X MID PIPE and, to top it off, FORD RACING BY BORLA SPORT AXLE BACKS.
So I went to the shop and I just said to the guy who does all the stuff for my cars: I want this HEADERS fitting to this MID PIPE fitting to the existing MID PIPE all the way to the mufflers and then cut those mufflers and replace them for these AXLE BACKS...
So the final setup goes like this: JBA OFF ROAD LONG TUBE HEADERS, JBA OFF ROAD X MID PIPE, MAGNAFLOW COMPETITION CATBACK FROM X TO REAR AXLE, FORD RACING BY BORLA AXLE BACKS
I had an specific exhaust note in my head when I purchased the Mustang, what I wanted as a one piece, smooth, sharp sound, turned out to be a Frankenstein's Monster, and guess what? I couldn't be happier...
