Rev Auto finally had the eco hit the rollers. The car is 100% stock minus the GT track pack wheels/tires. First I will start off by saying the datalogs show just how limited these cars are from Ford and the potential they have. The car desperately needs an upgraded intercooler as well, it heat soaks so easily and IAT's get a bit crazy just from 1 gear pulls even with a fan fairly close. Finally if you have a non-PP car you can't run it out on the dyno stock because it hits the speed limiter in 4th around 5700 RPM (120mph).

The JLT is an awesomely crafted piece as always. It took less then 10 minutes to install and had zero fitment issues. All the factory fittings hook up with no issues. Seeing how limited the stock tune was the gains just from swapping to the JLT were quite impressive.

Enjoy the video below and stay tuned for tune numbers and tune/JLT numbers this week. The full race intercooler is about a week out and the DP will be done soon as well. We'll see if these cars can handle E85 as well.

Break it down for us. What where the gains?
The blue is completely stock. The red on the graph is adding the JLT & making pulls. 9rwhp peak but look at the overall gains throughout the whole RPM range in some areas it gained over 15-20 rwhp & tq. Considering the stock tune being so restrictive i was very impressived it gained so much.

I will be comparing it to an Airaid at the track, with tunes for both. I am a big fan of the JLT.

Just to be clear the gains were with just the JLT intake correct? Both pulls done with 87 or 93 octane?
Yes sir. No tune yet. All the baseline & JLT pulls were on the same tank of 93 all within an hour start to finish.

Thanks; did you happen to see what the IAT's were with the stock and JLT?

Nice to see someone other than JLT to dyno the intake, not quite as good as their dyno but shows gains none the less!

Stock the IAT's averaged 145-165 depending on how long i let it sit between pulls. With the JLT i never seen above 135-150. So about a 5-10 degree drop on average. Keep in mind i posted both SAE & STD numbers. I didnt see which correction factor DTP used. If its STD our numbers are pretty much dead on.

With a tune i think is where its going to shine. I could not get the car to do a full 82% throttle angle stock or with the JLT so its very very limited without a tune.

Need some tuners to get one to see how to adjust their tune to take advantage of it.

DTP uses standard smoothing and corrections. Surprised they actually got you on the dyno. Last time I was there we waited for almost two hours and I had to leave for work before getting the truck we needed to dyno actually strapped down. It was like we werent even there they were ignoring us so hard, even with an appointment.

Also, don't expect MASSIVE gains from a tune. The slightest tune puts this thing out of the turbo's efficiency range, and just produces heat. An intercooler is a good band aid, but doesn't solve the actual problem. If you are just looking for some drag passes, with cooling time in between, you may get some serious numbers out, but once the heat sets in, its all over.

I should be able to tell you tomorrow or Tuesday as long as all goes well. The car is still strapped down, adam will be tuning it tomorrow.

Not sure why you say that when more than 1 tuner is picking up over 100 tq with a tune?

I read somewhere else on the forum that the stock IC is holding back the tunes. Yes, they are getting 100 more tq but that is only at the top end and quickly falls. Also the stock turbo is small. I'm sure these problems can and will be remedied in the future.

Agree, think it is pretty well documented that the stock IC is adequate at best.

I was told that Ford actually had to re-design the IC after their issues with the condensation buildup in the F150's, that it was cooling so well that they had the issues so Ford put some heat back into the IC to avoid that issue.
