I recently installed a MBRP Street with H pipe.

While it has a great deep sound - it has a rasp when WOT.
I have also noticed that when in 5th or 6th gear at around 1500 - 2000 revs on the highway I can hear a slight drone.
this will be a bit of a pain when doing long trips..

I was wondering if anyone has replaced the MBRP H pipe with the stock resonator and if so - how does it sound?
Did it reduce the rasp or change the exhaust sound?

Any suggestions welcome

Embrace the rasp! It's the call of the Coyote. :headbang:

Reinstalling the stock resonator will definitely reduce your drone to livable levels, though it won't completely eliminate it.

You're in the wrong gear at that time. ANY system is going to "drone" in that set of circumstances.

I had the same. Ungodly embarrassing rasp. Tip: Cut the shitty MBRP mufflers like I did and install Magnaflows. Problem fixed. If you need MagnaFlow part# let me know.

Can you shoot me the part numbers, and if you have a underside picture of the new welded in mufflers? Curious to see how it looks.

Resonators back in and staggered, if you can.

For 3" exhaust this is what you need. Magna flow Part# 12229 paid $69 a piece. For 2.5" exhaust you need Magnaflow Part# 12226
Did it remove the drone? I've got the MBRP race, and it sounds much better than the street imho, but the drone is pretty annoying. Long tubes go on this weekend so curious to see if it changes the drone before swapping mufflers.

YES it did. These Magnaflows give it a smooth muscle car sound.

Thanks. The MBRP is a 3" correct? Where did you purchase? I don't see below $90.

Despite being called street , this is aloud exhaust! I was very surprised when I first installed mine but have learned to love it and control how it goes from deep rumble to its pissed off crescendo when going wot. Perhaps it's more bearable or controllable with a manual and 3.73 gears. Mine has just a slight noise at highway speeds some might call it drone, to me it's what you get when you remove resonators and go 3" exhaust. Personally love mine , but it is aloud exhaust. If I ever change mine it will because of sound volume not tone.
