In 1964/65, the minimum wage was $1.25 ($2,600/year at about $6 in 96 $s)

Mustang at $2400 to $3500

In 2014, the minimum wage was/is $7.25 ($15,000/year at about $5 in 96 $s)

Mustang at $24,000 to $45,000

Of course Average Yearly wage is quite different from the Minimum, but You decide why!
Originally viewed as a secretary's car and a coupe with european styling that alot of people could afford. The unemployment rate in 64/65 was? Today? How much could the $ buy? Its all relevant

It only took that tool eight hours to chime in over there, but he did not disappoint! Now the 2010 refresh of the Mustang was a direct response to the introduction to the Gen5 Camaro, not because the S197 body style was already five model years old when the 'Maro went on sale. In addition, he sprinkled in his normal amount of 4th grade-level commentary.
That persons account has been suspended.:lol::lol::lol:....that dude is whack!!

12,663 in March in 31 days =408 a day
13,144 in April in 30 days =438 a day

Sales are picking up.

In my area I'm just now starting to see these cars here and there. Saw a new eco-boost parked the other day and wow was she beautiful.

Under the impression that GM is swallowing mightily. Probably didn't expect this. When I see the new mustang it's obvious that it's a completely different car. When I see the renderings of the new camaro, it looks like, to me at least, that's it just a re-fresh of there existing model.

Wondering if GM did enough to change the car. Well see shortly...

Rumor has it the new Camaro is lighter then the old model. From the pictures I have seen though it looks very much the same as the 2015. It is built on a new platform however. Will be curious to see if they improve the interior at all. The 2015 Mustang interior is so much nicer then the one was on my 2012 Camaro. Much better visibility out of the Mustang also.

Which is the thing.

A lot of the car guys crowd out there will know this but a very large proportion will not. Of course, they will see the commercials and such but just seeing it drive by it could get lost in the last gen crowd so sales could go slowly to start?

And if they didn't do enough to change it on the outside it's a possibility it will blend in with the current gen and get long in the tooth quickly. The mustang is so completely different then the last gen...

Exactly most people will see the new Camaro and think not much has changed over the 2015. I really think Ford nailed it with the S550 looks like a mustang but is still a big enough change for people to look at it and go ya I need one of those. Ford also made huge improvements on the interior of these cars. Will be interesting to see what Chevy comes out with next week. One rumor I heard is the 4 cylinder will be the base car. Really think ford did a great move putting a turbo 4 in the Mustang that can perform. Will be interesting to see how the Camaro stacks up.

I think you write a great summation here. I got this link from camaro6 http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/...what-it-takes/. This is an insider revealing some Cam6 factors. GM follows Ford. The GM exec says "Ford has shown their hand." I call this GM following the leader. Ford builds mustang on a ten year platform of advancing technology. Mustangs engines are mustang specific. Ford development is focused. GM development is focused on what Ford builds. For the points you make I think mustang will lead v. Cam6. If Cam6 wb is 107" call it the Mustaro!

I don't want to see a Mustang in every driveway. I lile a little bit of exclusivity

I think a 5th Gen styled 6th Gen was a very, very bad decision. I think it will cost them dearly...

Crap...

Ist dass 2200 auf Europa nur Festland? Oder ist das nur Deutschland? Das Vereinigte Königreich hat noch nicht begonnen verkaufen sie doch erst im Juni.

I don't know about this, but if one looks at the GM full size pickups for example, they really started out poorly, given that there wasn't enough change between the '13 and the '14 styles. And then Ford announces the Aluminum F150, GM dismisses it, and then quietly starts a refresh and use of aluminum body rumored for 2017. Pickup truck sales have picked up quite a bit since then, but GM is still leading from behind, which is too common.

I saw a line of Corvette's heading south on Jefferson Ave yesterday heading towards Detroit. It looked like a Corvette club out for a drive on this favorite cruising street by the lake; it was a drop everything and watch the parade type of event. The new Camaro is supposed to be introduced soon on Belle Isle which is about 5 miles south down Jefferson from me. In the parade of Corvette's was what looked like a smaller Corvette Convertible (it was yellow). By the time it dawned on me that *this* may be the 2016 Camaro without cammo being escorted to its intro spot they were all gone.

In my brief encounter it looked like a 7/8 version of a Corvette Convertible complete with the same do-dad in the center of the hood. It had the same large bulges for the wheel openings and similar design cues.

Time will tell if this is indeed the new Camaro or not without the cammo (just a few days now) but if it is then Chevy will really be upping the ante!

Rumor has it the 6th gen Camaro will look simular to this http://www.camaro6.com/2015/04/15/latest-2016-camaro-3d-render-looking-sleek/

Heard the looks are more evolutionary then revolutionary. Big change is the new lighter platform. Weight reduction should make these cars fast. I will be curious if they improve the interior at all. Wasn't ever a big fan of the interior on mine or the visibility. Also curious if they will put the Vette Motor in the SS...
