This is the crux of the matter for me. The M235i may have equal performance, but the looks do nothing for me, and if a car doesn't appeal to me visually, I am simply not interested.

If Ford was smart they should throw one or two new colors into the mix every year to keep the lineup fresh and add a modicum of uniqueness.

I agree, but I suspect that at this point in the production, the black tail light panel just hasn't been affixed yet. It's hard to tell, but it looks like there may be some bracket in the center that the black panel attaches to. It would be nice to know how for sure how that panel attaches...

I don't understand offering both Magnetic and Guard as they are both so similar. I wish Guard was a more overt green and Magnetic the stand alone darker grey shade in the Mustang color palette. It would be nice if they changed up at least some of the colors each model year to add interest...
