Wow! That's pretty elaborate! I was thinking about just blowing mine off with the air hose and maybe hitting some areas with the shop vac, lol! Thanks for the info.
"....wiring harness that hangs right below the oil filter."
That is ridiculous! I'll have to look for that next time around. I'm sure a bunch of oil flowing over it isn't good for it. C'mon Ford!
On #9, the filter area on mine has a trap door in the belly pan to access the filter. One srew to remove, not too big of a mess the couple times I've changed oil.
Good tips in that post! Make damn sure you have a drain pan big enough to handle 10 qts! A lot of pans they sell are smaller.
If its like my '18 F150 5.0, its the coil for #3, its remote due to the high pressure fuel pump for the DI located on the valve cover.
Just looked under the cover on my '21, yup, same as the '18 F150. Both are Gen 3's.
Just wondering how many of this gen owners had a Mustang back in the day? The 64.5-73 models? A good friend in HS had a '68 coupe, 200 six with 3 speed. Pale green with black interior. Post up photos of both of your if you can?
Thanks for the replies. Here's a photo of the cover for those who haven't seen it, I'm sure it has changed over the years. Mine is a December 2021 build '21 model.
I've changed mine twice with my Rhino Ramps, '21 GT with the 20 inch wheel/tire option. They're close but no scraping and wide enough. Very sturdy ramps, I've had them for years.
Changed oil on my '21 GT yesterday and noticed the coolant in the degas bottle is green. I thought Ford was already using the new yellow coolant in these cars? Its a DEC 2021 build.
I've currently got the 21194 version on my car also. I've been around the Sync system since '18 with my F150 so I know to be suspicious of these updates. I'll ask the dealer about it when/if I need to take the car in. Thanks for the info.
Apparently there is an update available for the Sync system on my '21 GT. Ver. 3.4.22251. What is the best way to do the update? Have there been any glitches with this version? My system currently works fine.
I toured the Kia West Point GA plant when they opened in 2010 making Sorentos. I seem to remember more robotics in there, they had one station that did hundreds of robot welds, the car would sit there maybe 10 minutes?
