So it still has the high rpm lockout with the shifter and fluid? I like the mt-82, just can't deal with the lockout. Is it a safety system kicking in? Can it be turned off via tune?
Hate to beat a dead horse but maybe someone can help me out in keeping my manual? I have an 18' that I bought used. Coming from an 03 cobra with a mgw shifter the mt82 is more smooth/lighter/comfortable but the thing locks me out of gear sometimes when driven hard shifting at 7000. It doesn't...
Nice write up! Whew, still sounds like a lot. I think shops are charging around $500 to install them around here. Are certain brands easier than others? Do they sound any different from brand to brand? Sounds like a good days work... Probably worth it though.
Subscribing. I have a 18' that I bought used with 11k on it and noticed the tick shortly after. Seems to only do it when cold though. I am itching to e85 tune it but don't want to lose my 7yr/100k warranty or my motor either...
Yes the sem trim black is good and cheap and is easy to use in a spray can. If you want to get rid of some of the texture use 400-600 grit sandpaper. If not then just scuff it with a scotchbrite pad.
To get rid of the texture you will have to sand it thoroughly with 320 grit or even 220 depending on how rough it is. Then primer, high build 2-4 coats, then black. If you want it to last and not fade you will need to basecoat it black and then apply a matte or satin clear coat.
I thought of that but would automotive paint hold up or would you have to use a special type of paint? Don’t really care for the look of the 18+ pipes but it might do for now...
