Oh good to hear! Yeah if I could go back, I wouldn't of tuned or modified this ecoboost one bit.. or would of just waited to buy a 5.0. This is going to be my 3rd engine, first was head gasket, second has a rod go through the bottom.... not even 5K miles on it yet. Hard lesson learned for damn sure.
Wow, I'm using the same plugs in my built setup. Assembly is finally all done but the shop is waiting on a tool from ford to do the timing. Hopefully i'll have mine back within a week or two. Its been nearly 5 months now without mine.
I had this problem on my 2018 before the head gasket went (unrelated and not to worry you). I would take it in to Ford and have them fix it under warranty, assuming you haven't tuned the vehicle.
What mods/tune did you have in yours?
I was just able to find a cylinder head at a dealer in Florida! Apparently their systems aren’t all linked and if they can see each other’s inventory, they aren’t inclined to help out and ship the parts to your local dealer. So, I will be paying for...
I've read its a good kit! I got mine from Tune+ for $1700. I'm also pretty stoked to see what my local shop can do with the HP tuner considering I've only seen it used on GTs. I'll report back here whenever I break it all in!
Best of luck to you and at least someone else is in a similar situation. Mine has been down since early March and I just put brand new summer tires and an exhaust on it. Learned some lessons though and will be using a local dyno shop going forward.
Pretty much everything in my signature besides the short block, upgraded turbo, and N-Gauge. I was using the AccessPort for that tune. Ford denied my warranty due to the ECU tune history (I reverted back to stock tune before taking it in). Rod went through the oil pan a few seconds after letting...
This may be a long shot but I was curious how many other people are waiting on Ford for a 2.3 cylinder head or related parts? I'm wondering if it's due to high demand or just COVID backups. I was able to get pistons, cam shafts, and everything else by now. I've had the head on order for nearly a...
@DruDru_97 The Type-A 2.0 block from TunePlus would work and perform very well if you're not looking to spend $10K+ on a 5.0. I'm currently replacing my 2018 2.3 after a rod went through the bottom. Out the door from TunePlus, I ended up spending around $7K for a full assembly kit, upgraded 2.0...
I have a 3in downpipe with the MBRP race and I can confirm its a lot raspier than the videos of just the MBRP cat-back sound. However, that is mostly at WOT. At lower RPMs it is very throaty. This is all comparing to a video though so don't take my word for it. I've always had the down-pipe.
I also have a strut brace so my plan was to make a bracket using aluminum or carbon fiber sheet on a consumer CNC to bring it away from the tower. I'll post some photos when I do.
Nice. I’m assuming the OE heat shield is removed? Did you have to undo any of the vacuum lines or remove the downpipe? Did you fish it through entirely standing over the engine bay? Also, what year? I removed my heat shield but wasn’t able to get it underneath on several attempts.
Anybody used this blanket? https://www.ptpturboblankets.com/collections/ford-turbo-blankets/products/ford-2-3l-mustang-focus-rs-lincoln-mkc-ecoboost-turbo-blanket
So I just applied an Unleashed 93 Perf tune to my 2018 EB and I'm very happy with what Torrie was able to provide! This thing pulls like I never imagined it could, especially coming from a POS tune that another vendor couldn't get right after 6 revisions (story for another time). It chirps the...
