  1. Oil catch can?

My catch can picks up about half a coke can over 5,000 kilometers ( 3,000 freedom units) when I change oil. I think it is worth the effort no matter the age if the engine. In fact the older the engine the more blow-by it will have. And of course if you plan to drive it in the upper rev range it...
  2. Idaho Ford Performance GT350R Steering Wheel

Best upgrade ever. The steering wheel is the most frequently touched part of your carā€¦and I love the feel of the Alcantara !
  3. IMRC Code

Had this issue on my 2017 GT about 6 months ago. The JB Weld thing is a joke. The prt that breaks is a metal shaft that runs down both sides of the manifold. The flaps are spring loaded to run in an open mode but under 3,000rpm the flaps are forced down by vaccum through a solenoid at the...
  4. Broken IMRC shaft - P0308, P0300

Well yes and no. I slagged the dealer on their google review and then received a reply suggesting I contact them - which I did. They agreed that this was poor for a part like this to fail at 25k km and they applied to Ford for an ex gratia compensation payment. I did the work myslef so they...
  5. Misfire codes P0300 and P0308

No bueno with Ford Warranty! Good to hear you got a result.
  6. Misfire codes P0300 and P0308

    How did you go SLO5.0?
  7. Anyone know a trick to get a dropped nut out of the trunk lid?

His concern was aligning the trunk lid after removing it.
  8. Anyone know a trick to get a dropped nut out of the trunk lid?

Try the boroscope - if all Else fails and you need to remove the trunk lid you can drill small holes through the hinges with a small drill bit and use that as an alignment tool when you refit the lid.
  9. Misfire codes P0300 and P0308

Even If you have a good boroscope you would not be able to see whether the shaft were sheared off I don't think.. the removal of the manifold is relatively easy though.
  10. Broken IMRC shaft - P0308, P0300

Did Ford step up and cover it under warranty Daffy?
  11. Misfire codes P0300 and P0308

If you have misfire codes on your S550 (ā€˜15 to ā€˜17) Mustang GT please be aware that the intake manifolds on these cars are prone to failure in the low speed flaps inside the manifold(Manifold Intake Runner Control). The flaps are controlled by vaccum actuators at the rear of the manifold via...
  12. Our first DTC P0308

My intake just broke in exactly the same way. 23,000 kms on the car and the intake needs replacing - outrageous. donā€™t think JB weld will help and Ford wanted to replace all coils, plugs and injectors before they would even consider the intake as the issue. Thatā€™s about $6,500 here in Oz. Has...
  13. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Hi Western Mustang- have been umming and ahhing on the Harrop for some time. Burkey talked me out if it 18 montha ago - but I ma bored with the power and need more mumba on track days. Can I ask a few questions about your experience with the Harrop? Driveability still okay? No canned tune...
  14. Edelbrock vs Gen 2 Whipple

Grinning isā€™nt always winning! Traction will be the limiting factor- unless Burkey cheats and puts on more rubber!
  15. Edelbrock vs Gen 2 Whipple

Disappointing that a tune could be so far off? Are you running the same spark plugs as with the whipple? Modern plugs are used as very sensitive knock sensors (they measure the ionic gas conductivity in between spark events). Anyhow thought maybe one of your plugs could be giving off false...
  16. Edelbrock vs Gen 2 Whipple

Do you have the stockEdelbrock tune? It may be worth trying a baseline from them to see if the issue cures ? I was hoping this would go well as I want to put one of these blowers on my GT. These issues just reinforce my concerns about after market stuff on modern cars - to damn complicated!
  17. DIY Whipple on a budget (of sorts).

hey Burkey have you gone ahead with the 2650!E-Force yet? Impressions in comparison to the Whipple???
  18. DIY Whipple on a budget (of sorts).

Thanks for sharing the costs and outcomes. You certainly saved a shed load and have built a serious weapon. I was looking at something milder and easier to drive on the road. I was hoping the whipple would give it more low down grunt to compliment the power it makes up top.
  19. DIY Whipple on a budget (of sorts).

Thanks for sharing your experience Burkey - the big question is - what did it cost you all up?
  20. What did you do to your Aussie S550 today..

Hi Def, did you have to change out your shocks with the lower springs? What springs did you install.
