Well, I’m no science-type guy, but I’m guessing if there’s a scratch, the ceramic coating is gone but the ppf will heal.
Btw, the ppf goes on first, then the coating. ;)
So I'm in the market for a Chevelle SS. The SS trims came with hood pins, which I think are cool. The wife thinks they look like nipple rings and look stupid.
So I'd like the forum to chime in and let her know what they think of hood pins on the Chevelle. yea or nay?
the OEM GT350 stripes are not only crazy expensive, but wouldn't fit on a non-GT350 model: the GT350 has hood vents that the stripes go over. (see pic)
I did a lot of research on the vinyl and settled on Avery brand vinyl. It was a perfect match for the Blue GT350 stripe. I had my installer...
this one's right up my alley
Check out my last post (#85). I wasn't sure what to expect since the white platinum was a new color for the car and I had only seen stripes on oxford white.
But I YOLO'ed and put blue stripes. It. looks. great.
Just don't drive around NW Indiana.
I've been through this whole thread but haven't read if there's an actual TSB for this problem. So, is there a TSB that we can print up and show to the service managers?
The operations manager I spoke to at my local dealership tells me that there have been 4 different part numbers for the A/C evaporator for the s550. So, hopefully, this most recent part will be the most reliable.
"Hopefully" being the key word here.
My driver's side door is not closing flush. The dealer has tried simple measures to adjust it but it hasn't helped. (See pics)
At this point service is going to try putting another door from a car on their lot to see how it fits. I might need a new door, or a new hinge.
Anyone else with...
I got the same converter for my F-150...I soldered the wire tips to make them harder and then pounded them a little to make the tips flat and thin enough to insert. This makes pushing them into the ports much easier.
The invisicord brand is $26 and this cheapo Chinese brand is the same for...

dashcam with great reviews and a capacitor. Available under different names on amazon, too
don't need to run wires either.
Invisicord makes a solid product but you could find one at aliexpress.com for a lot cheaper
$225 for the mechanic to take them apart and put them back together, and around $400 for the calipers...the color I used is metallic-y with a layer of clear coat over it...so that cost more than your basic color. Normal cost for 4 calipers would've been $200. I PC'ed the rotors, too for an...
Powder coating is definitely the professional looking-est way to mod the calipers
My vote is professional powder coating: we spend a $hitload of money on mods...why cheap out on the calipers by painting them? It was one of my more expensive mods, but my wife's second favorite (after the stripes).
I have glossy blue stripes on the hood and glossy black on the mirror caps... with a layer of Gtechniq over them, which provides a little protection. Vinyl is indeed very soft and will show scratches and swirls over time, especially if you take it into automatic car washes. They can be...
