  1. First autumn/winter in Seattle... tires?

So what I'm reading is that unless it actually gets down to freezing temperatures, winter tires don't help. And when temperatures are warm enough, summer tires are always better in the rain than all season or winter tires (this is not true of R888s which, even though they are used in the rain on...
  2. First autumn/winter in Seattle... tires?

Moved to Seattle from California. Zero experience with driving the car in the rain, and certainly never snow (though not much of that in Seattle I hear). I've got R888s on my new wheels, so that leaves me with the original GT PP wheels to put some non-summer tires on. I'll likely be commuting in...
  3. Emissions and Mods!

I suppose I should ask this here: I am confused. I've moved from CA to WA. All the gov sites seem to say that WA gets its emissions laws from CA. But then one site says that cars newer than 2008 don't have to be tested. But then again someone said it will get tested every two years...
  4. Moved to WA from CA. Emissions story?

Moving from CA to WA. Asking about WA laws and regs.
  5. Moved to WA from CA. Emissions story?

I am confused. I've moved from CA to WA. All the gov sites seem to say that WA gets its emissions laws from CA. But then one site says that cars newer than 2008 don't have to be tested. But then again I met someone that has a mustang and he said it gets tested every two years. Manufacturers seem...
  6. 2016 GT PP Pirelli PZero SKU?

Blew my right rear tire, but online there appear to be ten different SKUs for a 275/40ZR19 P-Zero. Anyone know the correct SKU for our particular P-Zero? Thanks.
  7. CARB, Coyote, GT350 intake manifold, vortech or procharger?

Ok, so the answer to "will it work" is "yes". https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85487&page=6 Will it still be legal? Both have EO numbers. Does combining them mean their not valid?
  8. CARB, Coyote, GT350 intake manifold, vortech or procharger?

What to do next? I live in California. I rarely get to the track, but when I do its button willow or willow springs, not a straight line. The car is my DD. Been thinking about a whipple for a long time, but heat soak. So wanted to run this idea by you guys: Thinking of doing the Ford...
  9. $1k to Upgrade handling without lowering car

You've got the PP so you've already eliminated a lot of the sloppiness. I did wheels, then sway bars and coilovers. With just the wheels, the car was still pretty loose. Then I did sway bars + coilovers. Now the car is night-and-day different compared to just the wheels. I did the sway bars and...
  10. Dodgy clunking from right rear after putting on new springs and sway bars

Thanks for all the advice. I'd never heard of clocking bushings before. I suspect this journey is going to involve a lot of things I didn't know that I didn't know. Well, found my problem. Don't know how I missed it before, but I'd not properly tightened the locking ring on the adjustable...
  11. Sway Bar Size Compilation

I read that the stiffness of a bar increases with the fourth power of diameter? So compared to the GT PP 32mm front bar, the 35mm bars are actually 40% stiffer? That true?
  12. Dodgy clunking from right rear after putting on new springs and sway bars

Title says it all really. Put on BC springs and struts, along with BMR sway bar and end links. Was all good for a couple of days. Now I'm getting clunking from the rear right as with any kind of non-perfectly smooth road. Nothing is lose, so I'm assuming it only happens when there's 3500lbs of...

  15. jamieb's 2016 GTPP build

Ok, first time wrenching on a car. Not sure a $35k Mustang was the best choice to learn the ropes on, but here we are. Also, I have no idea how to do photos, so sorry if they don't come out. Day one: Where we are now: TODO: what i've done so far Project 6GR Wheels...
  16. Inconsistent Wheel Gap

Yeah there was! Loosened up the bolts and took a video: knuckle/strut play. Now the clearance is great! Thanks Norm. Never would have thought of that.
  17. Inconsistent Wheel Gap

Before I did the coilovers, I noticed one side poked more than the others. I just counted threads before installing the coilovers, I didn't measure with a tape or anything. Haven't done any alignment or post-install setup beyond taking it for a drive around the block and checking (and...
  18. Inconsistent Wheel Gap

Hey Norm, thanks for the reply. I hadn't considered that at all. What is the camber adjustment procedure? Is this something I can do - and if so where do I read about it? Or is it something I need to ask the dealer about? Is the problem that there is play in the knuckle to strut holes and...
  19. POLL: Satisfaction with Ford Performance Power Pack 2

I don't gave the PP2, but my 2016 GT PP has huge rev-hang. That said, it seems to hang around where it would need to be if I was accelerating through the gears aggressively.
  20. Inconsistent Wheel Gap

My front right tire looks like it pokes out more than my left. When I put coilovers on this weekend, the coilover on the left dug a groove into the left tire, while the one on the right was fine. I can only conclude that the tires are not exactly centered on the wheel.
