Awesome. Very interested in Stage 2. Brother Vargas, you touched on plug and play. Just to clarify, i could keep my intake, DP, and MAP FMIC to flip to stage 2?
I bought an MBRP street kit from Horsepower Direct and these guys were cool as sh** on the phone. Definately car guys. Also great advice I got from these guys. If you have a straight through downpipe DONT get the MBRP Race. Guys were saying it was so loud (in a bad way) that they hated it. Get...
This is very interesting. I'll be monitoring this thread closely. Vargas, I like how you handled the earlier criticism with class and a valid explanation.
I bet it did. I wish I could update the snail at conservative boost/tune without having to delve into a $3500-$4500 kit! That's too steep. The ol lady would kill me
No bro. Not crappy at all. Thanks for posting it. Yea I def am not hearing much of an I dle change in those cams. I feel like that's a mod another company like MAP could handle. I would surmise a lot of us would buy a good sounding cam
Excellent question. My old man is a Ford dealer down south and I got a great deal on an Ecoboost. He said guys down there were making a lot of power and that it was his preference. I'm kind of wishing I'd have bought a used 5.0, but with the lighter motor up front, there's more traction in Ohio...
Well crap. I don't want to go backwards on the exhaust. What's done is done. If I had to do it again, I probably would not have gotten the MBRP. I would have stuck with MAP for the catback and probably gone straight for the MAP turbo kit, as the MAP CAI and DP I have are somehow not compatible...
I'm really looking for stronger sound. With catless turboback, CAI/BOV, I am still disappointed with the sound. I've heard a lot of strong sounding cammed Evo/STi's. Surely these big shops realize a lot of guys would be happy spending under a grand between parts/install for a cool uneven idle...
Ugh.... I would never do a "cam tune." Sounds like everyone here is a proponent of a big turbo kit. I was trying to avoid that. Sounds like there are too many fuel/block/internal restrictions to hit strong numbers in those turbo kits....at least more $ than I'm willing.
Really? That's a shame. I'm mainly looking for a sound improvement in an uneven idle....more than just power concerns. Are any of the shops doing any custom grinds on these cams?
Hey guys,
First post here. I apologize if it's been addressed before. Basically, I've done every available bolt-on short of a big turbo kit, and I'm thinking of doing Ford Racing cams next. Anyone do this mod and have any sound clips/thoughts?
