By short run I meant the timeline for building them. First cars are not supposed to come off production line in Feb. In normal times the new model year is announced in April and production starts late summer/early fall.
I’m talking C8’s.
2020 model year will be a short run since production was delayed due to the strike. 2020's are sold out, that's true. But 2021 models should start late summer or early fall. Even if it takes a year from now that's fine. Will continue to look for a 2019 Z06 until mid January. If that fails will...
Never get to attached to any one brand. Next year what we own will most likely be yesterdays news.
GT500, new Z06, C8...…...One of the three will come my way and it seems the Z06 might be first.
Dealer called me back...…………...asked me to stop by so he can put an order together...………...for only $20,000 over MSRP. Looks like a Z06 or a C8 in my future:)
Internet manager from a Ford dealership returned my car late yesterday and told me the car is limited availability and they might be able to let me order me one for MSRP. Told them I was interested and asked them to call me and if they had an actual allocation to order one. Will keep you all...
Fair warning....
Rude awakening...….
I get it, I really do...….Not being brand loyal to any make and having patience works for me.
I don't have to have a GT500. Its my #1 choice but their are other cars that make me smile as well. A great deal on a new or used Z06 will make me just as happy...
It's time to order! I am officially in the market for a GT500 if I can order exactly what I want and not pay above MSRP. If anyone knows of a dealer who can help me within 500 miles of Nashville or Knoxville please drop me a PM.
Its a long shot I know, but if I fail there is always a 2019 Z06...
Interesting, the driver gives a long review on a lime green GT500 without back seats. Then when he does the test drive its in a car with back seats.
Or am I missing something?
Thanks. I am a year away from buying a car. Owned a Grand Sport Corvette previously with an A&A SC and loved it. But traction was an issue below 40mph.
Narrowed my car choices down to:
GT500
GT with Roush
2021 C8
I didn't mention increasing power over the existing ZL1. I said if GM switched the transmission to a dual clutch design it would be faster. My bet is it could easily run sub 3 second 0-60 times with good street tires.
Who would pay for it? A lot of Chevy lovers could be potential buyers. A dual...
The one huge advantage the ZL1 has is cooling. It does a much better job than the Z06 and I read reports of people tracking the car most of the day in hot weather with no heat related issues.
If GM ever builds the ZL1 with a dual clutch auto they are going to have one seriously fast car.
