  1. 19 vs 20 Wheels

Thanks, seems like people are getting 30-40k miles out of them, depending on driving style. If I was going to stay with the factory size and category of tire, I think i'd step up to the Potenza RE970AS Pole Position's. $36/tire more, but same mileage and better performing everywhere.
  2. Ford Racing TracKey

I've been use to racing cars with throttle by cable and I can feel that slight delay caused by my '05's throttle by wire. I also know in the last 10 years throttle by wire has advanced, but I was wondering if anyone could give any input, with comparison to a direct cable in the various throttle...
  3. "Less Tape Stripe"

In this instance, the word "less" means "minus" as in "minus tape stripe" or to be without stripe tape. So it's just confirming that you did not order tape stripes.
  4. Wheels for the 2015 S550

What are the offsets on the '15 wheels?
  5. 2015 Mustang Full Dealer Product Guide!

It's not very good for your rear end to drive with 2 different height tires. square set up holds the answers to all of lifes questions.
  6. Why 19 inch wheels as performance option?

I'd agree, if the tire is the same and the contact patch is the same, then the smaller wheels are the way to go, but I have not found a tire that'll give me as much rubber as a 305/30/20 while still meeting my other needs. My reason for not wanting to go below 27" tall is because that'll...

Clearly things that normally would not pass smog in 1930's germany still won't pass smog, but assuming everything else is "smog friendly", would getting a tune (like with a smog legal in california CAI and exhaust) still be smog legal in nazi germany/california? I'm trying to figure out how...
  8. Why 19 inch wheels as performance option?

If you're staggering sizes front to rear then it might be fine, but if you're going with a square setup then 285/35/18 is way too short in overall height, so 285/40/18's would be a better height, but only if you don't have a GT-PP, because of brakes and rear tire size. 285/35/19's not a bad size...
  9. Why 19 inch wheels as performance option?

I'm just a car guy who's put in a lot of time trying to make my own cars faster around a track. I can hold my own working on the drivetrain and other parts of the car, but my focus has always been on making a car handle well and how i want. So suspension and tires is where my real knowledge is...
  10. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

Super-nova's are a blast! Till they run too lean and boom, but when they go, wow, they're impressive.
  11. Why 19 inch wheels as performance option?

Base vs premium will make zero difference to what wheels you're capable of fitting. The offset of the wheel is extremely important, assuming proper offset, either 20x9's or 20x10's should fit on all 4 corners. You better be concerned with tires and tire sizes, that'll make or break if your...
  12. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

The one where the poster said "Just waiting for confirmed HP and Toque....but included best guess based on discussion with local dealer" Yea, I read that thread....did you?
  13. Performance Package Brakes

The 2014 F1 cars have smaller rear brakes than the 2013 F1 cars; there are many more factors but they felt the weight savings in that area would be more important.
  14. 2015 Mustang INTERIOR Pictures

I agree, it's the trunk release....or a button to raise the hidden rear spoiler you thought was deleted from the pp....probably trunk release though.
  15. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

echo....echo....echo... Seems like that link's source used another source, that used a source, that is based on the steeda guess.
  16. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

an F-150's curb weight is 4685 lbs, but it's GVW is 6450 lbs. an F-350's curb weight is 6006 lbs, but it's GVW is 10000 lbs. = 1321 lbs difference vs 3350 lbs
  17. 19 vs 20 Wheels

I doubt even a stopwatch could tell the difference, the difference in weight would be in ounces. The SVT S550 that there are pictures of testing on the street, wears 295/35/19's on all 4 corners, so the width up front shouldn't be an issue. The only possible problem I could see is the height...
  18. 19 vs 20 Wheels

If we're keeping tires the same across the board, then the bigger contact patch of the 20's should claw back the approximate 2lb weight difference. Edit: With the contact patch of the 20's both wider and longer than the 19's; both straight line and cornering grip would be improved with the 20's...
  19. 19 vs 20 Wheels

Standard GT wheels: 235/50/18 = 4.6'' sidewalls. GT PP front/non-PP optional 19's: 255/40/19 = 4'' sidewalls. Optional 20's: 265/35/20 = 3.7'' sidewalls. Many other things can affect comfort too, like what different tires we're used? Performance tires tend to have a stiffer sidewall, so a high...
