This will happen until either the cost to produce gets to high and really starts raising the price of the vehicle, and or the mpg standard gets so outrageous, then I agree they will do some sort of a hybrid type deal. JMO
I don't think the sound of a V8 is why people buy them. Your example of the Grand National vs. the GS455 was a good one, but that same thing doesn't hold true in today's world. V8's back then aren't doing what the current V8's are doing. Plus most people buying cars based on performance alone...
I think were getting a little carried away with terminology here. My point was these cars along with Camaro's, Vette's, Challenger's are your AMERICAN sports cars. Whatever you prefer to call them: muscle cars, performance coupe, etc...Have some of them always had base models with V6's...yeah...
Feasible.... yes, likely..... no. These are muscle cars, Camaro, vette, mustang, challenger. They're considered that because they have performance v8's aka muscle. Without that they aren't what they've always been. Ferrari, Porsche, etc...have never been muscle cars, they have always been...
I don't have a problem with evolution or a radical departure as long as it looks good. I'm not a big fan of the Chaz's render, its just not what I like. Has nothing to do with evolution, has to do with my taste. I'm starting to like it the more I see it and hope it looks way better in person...
Good job, I hope the doors are out more, the front fender and rear fender buldge out (they look good) but the door just looks to sunk in....But this does give Chaz's render a lot more shape and you can see the curves a lot more. Props to both of you.
This...they will never stop making the v8 for a mustang, if they did, ,they might as well stop making the mustang, because sells will drop. They will either like said above, do what Chevy did, or find another route, build a different engine, etc...LS engines have always gotten good mileage, if...
I should have said out of the big 3...BMW, etc... have never done big CI stuff. I'm talking American muscle, since that is what a mustang is. Dodge and Chevy are still doing 400+ ci, which I guess they sacrafice not having 4v heads and having a pushrod motor instead to achieve those CI. I'd...
I definitely won't own another black car, they look the best but way to hard to keep clean. I would like to see a bright orange lie what came on the 03-04 cobra. 93 cobra teal would be pretty damn sweet I think.
It's funny how many people believe this is the real deal, and you can't tell them any different. Was telling a guy on svtperformance that the C&D photo isn't what the 15 is going to look like, and that Chaz's rendering is more accurate, even told him this was confirmed by someone who had seen...
True, but you can always put a turbo on a v8:)...I'm hoping Ford ends up going that route. I'm sure they will one day, I just hope it is sooner rather than later.
I think they are over for Ford, everyone else is still doing big displacement. I'd like to see Ford do a nice "bigger" more powerful N/A setup like chevy does with their 427. I think it would be awesome to have a 500-550 N/A 5.8 in a mustang. But like you said, I guess it won't fit so oh well.
I don't see why they couldn't still use vents on a totally new car. They looked good on the 13-14. I would imagine they would look just as good on the 2015. Although I do see what your saying in the reply in regards to his comment.
I think that's what mitchell was saying for the most part...the numbers aren't exact but they are close...I think we can all say from knowing what we know about these cars is those hp ratings are very close.
