Exactly!! My b.s. started with my dealer not knowing what “allocation” was and so my order did not get scheduled for nearly 12 weeks. I had to pester them until they believed me that they had an ordering issue which is nuts to begin with. If Ford wants to sell cars, why not start with building...
You have made an excellent point. Brings up a lot of other issues that can arise after the initial expected average 3 month wait turns into 4, 5, 6 months with no end in sight: downpayment money is tied up, trade in vehicle putting on 80 miles a day for several more months - will the agreed...
So as a person with really crappy luck for things like this, I am thinking it is possible I will NEVER get this car: excuses such as “it was lost in the shuffle”, they cannot “get” to it to put on the wheel, another “ran out of steering wheels” or parts problem, other cars with higher priority...
My question is this: what are Ford reps, customer service and dealers doing for people with cars stuck in this steering wheel limbo? The tracking site is not being updated, chat reps have no info, Ford Performance reiterates what is on the website, dealer says he sees no real hold up...
Yes Ford America as represented by my dealer as well as the dealer in my “area” who called me to verify a test drive for a Mustang I would have bought that day if it were in fact on the lot (they set up an appointment with me to test drive a nonexistent car) have NOT been much better to me than...
Are you not the same person that just replied to me about me insinuating dealers suck when in fact you flat out state this exact thing above and added that don’t tell you anything or flat out lie? Maybe you should be a little more consistent in your dealer opinions before you rag on someone else.
Not sure how “lying to me” equates to insinuating that all people are going through what I am. Just telling it like it is/has been for me. My dealer and his rep have not been giving me any info so that is MY experience. How nice for you that your experience had been going much more smoothly...
So am I understanding correctly that Ford ran out of the leather wrapped steering wheels and that is what most of us are waiting on NOW? After we have gotten through the “too cold to work” plant shutdown and mexican worker no parts strike? This is getting to be a fricking joke
Wow! That is really a craptastic wait for you. And no one knows what is taking so long?? In hindsight, I would have settled for something different and gone on a wider search had I known the poor customer service and lack of accountability of Ford employees. However, even when I found...
Darn it - the website is lying to me now and Ford Performance reps are just guessing. Estimated delivery per the website is tomorrow. Well that is a big joke considering I have been stuck in “production” since 2/19. The dealer’s best “guess” is “sometime mid-March” which means a solid 5 MONTH...
Ok great thanks for the info. Mine went into production on its blend date of 2/19 and says it will be delivered in 4 days...but still saying “in production” on the online tracking site so we will see what actually happens this week. Acccording to your input, the car should be built by now...
I am not quite seeing the connection between Mexico and a plant shutdown in Feb so I guess we will have to take your word for it. In my case no big deal now what’s another 3-weeks in this 5-month build nightmare lol
From what I learned from the thread somewhere on here about window stickers is that your blend or build date is actually 2/7/19 based on the code - it reads year-month-day first number doesn’t count 1 20190207 - so I think your production should still be good but transit could be an issue...
That does not sound good. Have you tried to contact your dealer or Ford Performance about this? Maybe they can at least find out if your vehicle has a Hold or any other flag on it?
