Invest $2000 dollars in even medium yield investments 45 years ago and only get a return of 35k is an investment fail of the highest magnitude. It’s the sole reason so many Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, Honda’s, etc. get modded. They’re supported by the aftermarket and about as rare as pennies...
Full ARH with an H-pipe here at 1 7/8 albeit in a 2015. Odd they don’t offer the H anymore. Mine is catless. I’d go 1 7/8 just in case I got the itch for FI In the future. The H really removes the raspiness inherent in the Coyote but the full system like I have is LOUD due in part to the lack...
I’ve only ever seen one Roush car that was bought with the intention of truly making it fast. That was a white 2016 RS3 from Brenspeed that eventually went low 9’s but all the TVS stuff minus the SC had been replaced by better stuff and a custom tune. You could do that with the 15 and 16’s but...
Has it done a lot of cones, road course, drag racing? If so I’d be wary. If not then a little over KBB would be a steal if the rest of the car is in excellent condition.
This thread delivers! Not as good as the original Whipple vs Roush threads in 2015 when the company reps used to get on here and attempt to digitally beyotch slap each other but it is entertaining. I own a 2015 Roush SC but all remnants of the original kit are long gone. Can’t say I’m a big fan...
Not surprising. I’ve moved away from everything but the supercharger. VMP tune now. Whipple has done a great job with their stuff. Likely a better choice.
600 to 625 whp considering the Roush tune (conservative and flaky) with little room for growth. If you want a quick car with warranty this is a good path. I sill have the original Supercharger on mine but everything else has been replaced which does void any warranty.
Mine went into limp mode often with the Roush tunes (1&2). Never anything more than shutting it off and on. Generally happened during normal driving, once during “spirited driving”. Hasn’t happened since the VMP tune. Just sayin...
If it’s worth it to you the ARH with H pipe nullifies the raspiness and there is no drone. The system is pricey but you’ll get as close to the guttural muscle car sound as possible. I got one of their first systems for the 15 and still love the sound.
Have you considered coilovers? I’m not exactly sure how much drop I’m running but the ARH headers have never drug. I’ve got a full ARH system and it’s actually lower back by the diff. The coilovers would allow you some safety margin for adjustment
They do have a 1400 package. It’s only a little over an hour north of me and I’m considering a call to them as their stuff looks really nice. Not sure they would want to deal with my comparatively Yugo power levels (700 whp) but it is intriguing.
Ditto on the Roush. I started with the phase 1/2 track. Never impressed with overall drivability of the car. The only thing left from the Roush packages is the blower. Everything else has been replaced and the 93 octane tune is from VMP. Better drivability and the ceiling is much higher now...
Not sure on the 17 and up cars but when the 15’s first released I added lowering springs and kept the pp dampers. An initially average IRS turned to junk. I called it oscillation in earlier threads and others had the same experience. Adding power (FI) made it even worse. I threw the BMR and...
800 wheel shouldn’t be a problem with the mentioned upgrades. You can read my signature for my setup but the tuner/VMP says I can go there with just another tune no problem but there’s always risk. I run a can of Torco in every tank as a safety margin. Heat becomes a problem and the original...
