Considering all the other engineering that went into the car, I would've thought that Ford could engineer body panels, so in a $60,000 vehicle, I don't have to compromise, because it's, ya know, a friggin' body panel. I would have thought that on a regular production Mustang there would be...
I have the dealer's copy of the invoice as well. Dealer paid 57,787.76. I paid 60,960.00. That = $3,172 dealer profit. Those numbers are in U.S. $$$$.
Of course the invoice says, "This invoice may not reflect the final cost of the vehicle in view of the possibility of future rebates...
OK, can you break that down? I see the math showing the difference between the dealer cost and the msrp for the car and its options and its around $3,000 for my car.
There's not much markup on these cars, brand new. The dealer only makes a little over $3,000 on a '17. And they pay to sell on top of that. They make double that on a truck. Just saying that $900 is good hit on the dealer on a car this much in demand. Your original deal sounded good.
I think I'll use the "smack it hard" method for awhile until the linkage stretches or whatever needs loosened up. 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd isn't exactly smooth either. 3rd through 6th feels right. Glad to hear it settles down eventually.
Clutch fully depressed, I thought I was in 1st, slowly let out the clutch to hear a grind. Done it twice now. First gear is odd. Sometimes, I feel a "notch" with more travel to go, most of the time I don't. The couple of times it was a grind, I didn't feel the "notch". But a majority of the...
Drive the S2000, while saving enough to pay cash for the GT350. If you have any other debt, pay that off first. If your priorities haven't changed by the time you go hunting for your GT350, you made the right decision.
I respect your need to win a museum piece. I bought my tickets and don't care if TRI markets the beast. Surprised to hear the whining from a vet, though. Semper Gumby.

Probably the best video review of this car I've seen to date. Includes a very short pitch at the end to donate to TRI's raffle. I hope this raffle does well, it's only at $33K! My fellow vets, let's help TRI get the...
Before I got the car, I thought I might jump at a good offer but it realistically might only be 5 or 10, maybe 15k over MSRP. Now that I HAVE the car, I'd flat refuse a reasonable offer. What would I take to trade every good time in this car for the next 20+ years and pass it on to my son...
Some states will do that and issue you a temp tag from the state where the sale took place, good for X days. They handle the tax transfer, title and registration and the tags of your home state show up at your door. That's how it worked for me but my states share a border. Dmv.org seems to...
Laughing out loud from the exhaust as I goosed it through 4 floors of the parking garage this morning. Every milquetoast in the garage probably thought ISIS just attacked the compound.
I briefly thought of combining the roof and stripe and am so glad I didn't. It would look like too much stuff crammed on the car, and white would be especially bad with a black roof. The thing about the ruby car is the rest of the black areas on the car provide a nice balance but too much...
My personal opinion is this car is a combination of performance, beauty, rarity, and uniqueness, and you can't get that combo for 6X the money where I live, because every high-paid d-bag owns the same stable of performance cars that nobody looks at twice. None of them sound like my car...
Thanks for your comment. That's another thing entirely. Badly written laws are able to be challenged so it's surprising to me that any loosely written noise law could survive the process, maybe Texas is just special in that regard. I think the police are often uninformed regarding the law...
Adding my final delivery pics to the mix. Dealership staff were floored by how great this car turned out. They had ordered a Race Red with white stripes but I think they had a major reboot on what a Shelby could look like.
