Now that I've had the system a while I'm finding some areas for improvement.
1) I'm not convinced the amp is truly putting out 300 watts into my 4 ohm 8" RF sub. I've got the gain up to about 75%.
If I play a song like AC/DC - Who Made Who at about 3/4 volume, I notice that the sub kicks...
I don't hear a chime when I open the trunk only but the amp turned on. But that was only part of the problem. The other part was the random noise issues that seemed to come and go.
Regardless, the issue appears to be resolved. I believe they just used either a PAC SNI1 or something...
Update.
One thing I failed to mention in the OP was that the amp would turn on even if I just opened the trunk. Then after a few seconds it would shut down then power up again. This same behavior if I just opened the door.
Took it back to the shop today. After some diagnosis they...
Did more tests today. Don't have time for details but I ended up removing the turn on lead wire from the amp. And it still came on! Checked the voltage and they had tied into the 6v audio enable signal from the head unit.
Talked to the shop and we both agree that the amp is bad so they are...
I have the 401A package but decided to upgrade the whole system.
Focal 6 1/2 2-way components up front.
Disconnected the center channel and 3 1/2 mids in the upper doors.
Left the factory rears.
Upgraded to 8" Rockford Fosgate sub in the Shaker sub box.
Alpine X-A90V 5 channel amp...
I'm just starting to do research for my stereo upgrade (I have the 401a Shaker Pro) and I've read this thread through at least 3 times and have taken notes. I'm not all that handy so I would certainly buy an already configured breakout box that made the install plug and play!
My initial...
Hey there. My name is Bill. Just joined the forum but not new to Mustangs. Grew up in a blue oval family. I vaguely remember dad having a Falcon and a Gran Torino. By the time I got to drive I drove his 74 Ford F100 to school.
Bought my first Mustang shortly after college. An 89 GT dark...
Got the car back today. Turns out something was wrong at the fuse box. The AC Compressor fuse did not have a solid connection. So hitting a bump could cause it to lose connection and abruptly turn cold air to warm, humid air. At this point it seems my issue was a false alarm.
I did tell the salesman that if I had my way I'd return it and take my trade in back. The loss would be tough so I hope they can sort it out. If anyone has any recommendations for a dealer service center with expertise in this area in the Houston area that would be appreciated.
Newbie here but 4th Mustang. Just bought a new 2017 GT Premium A6. Had it 5 days and the AC stopped blowing cold. Less than 200 miles on the car! Took it back to the dealer Friday. Service rep said it was a known issue and will be 3 days. Because it was so new they put me in a loaner...
