Loving my little G2 unit, very fun and controllable. And lots of power for a street car. It's a handful with soft street tires in 1st and 2nd gear wot launch but I prefer spirited driving over drag racing so its fine for me. 3rd and 4th feels like a rocket launching into warp speed. What a...
I know, depends on the tune though. According to what I've read results are pretty alligned. If you saw 9.5-11psi with your gauge on 120mm makes sense I'm seeing 8psi on 125mm. Also Brevin clarified they measured it around 7k rpm which again is allignes with the digital reading I posted above.
So I used the elm327 and Forscan.
I had to put the stock tune first as Forscan wasnt recocgnizing the vehicle.
Got stuck with code at address 720-06-01 as it was a little different from expected but found the answer on another thread...
Activated the digital boost gauge with Forscan and took a quick video at wot.
Here's a couple of screenshots for psi/rpm:
7400rpm = 8psi
7100rpm = 6.5-7psi
6900rpm = 6psi
5800rpm = 4psi
This is with the largest 125mm pulley
The gears are creating less heat but the tubine is smaller. Smaller turbine housing volume means higher pressure for the same cfm. More pressure means more heat. Am I wrong?
Agree, I asked my tuner to keep the A10 Ford Performance Cal. shifting strategy to play it safe as well. Think mine is shifting around 7200 and feels great on street.
Was about to ask you. Your car was doing incredibly well for 7.5 psi only. Some others have reported the same discrepancies.
ESS revised psi/pulley by 1/2 pound but its still off a bit. G3 seems to make more psi than the G2 unit but both seem to be making more than announced.
G2 with 125mm...
The SC really made it perfect for me. Honestly, without it I wasnt sold out on it.
Maybe, as someone posted above here, I just had to wait for it to break in but I installed the SC 2 days after the switchfire. So who knows 🤷🏻♂️
I love it!
Active exhaust and switchfire pair very well.
I also have supercharger that made it more throaty at high rpm. Without the SC it was raspier over 4k rpm
Can someone tell how extended the tensioner is by this picture?
This is with the K061037 belt on the 125mm pulley.
I feel the belt is pretty tight and know those niches can tell how much the tensioner is working, not sure how to measure it though.
Video from inside the cabin with open windows. Stock active exhaust, switchfire and ESS Tuning Supercharger.
After installing the SC the sound at high rpm improved a lot , it became less raspy and more throaty.
