Drove a S550 with the Z26's. Bite was less than stock pads. They got hot fast. All in all, they probably work just fine on the road, especially if dust is your main concern.
If you value better bite, stick with stock. Or consider a G-Loc street pad.
Reach out to Bumberas. I'm telling ya, Boyd has the fastest IRS car I know of, TT, obviously completely caged.
And their prices aren't horrible. I thought they would be way worse than they are.
You live in LA. The heat will kill a battery in 3-5 years. Just get whatever battery works with your bank account. Unless your willing to spend a pretty penny, they are all basically the same.
Exactly my thought. "My hits will get me the money I need to fix my fuck up". I'm no ppf expert, BUT, I'd bet one can look at PPF and figure out if it's going to be a real problem removing. I suspect there's a lot more to this story then "Did I ruin my dream car".
Just my opinion.
It's definitely big. I've not seen one in person yet, but look at the GTD rear bumper. That whole section is part of airflow management behind the car. I'm sure most of us are aware, but making that longer and curving up increases DF instead of allowing that turbulent air go right up the bumper...
I think the front CF needs to be painted. I love the look of CF, but it's just too much dark up front. The painted CF looks fantastic.
I've come around on this car. I really want to see weight. One thing is for sure, those Shelby American cars about to lose a lot of value when Ford announces price.
You can always shim up those corners of the trunk. I've seen it on other cars. The problem there is you have a twisting motion in addition to the down force, on what is the most cantilevered part of the trunk. And a lot of twisting motion being that tall. But the gt500 mounts there too. So idk...
So I'm still looking myself. I'd highly suggest calling Bumberas performance, specifically Boyd, here in texas. While you may be too far away, they have a new inside and out coating that supposedly kills heat transfer, from some company that works with SpaceX. I'm still waiting to get data back...
Dude, I think you're going to need an intake before you gotta worry about wheel speeds.
Lol jk, looks like a hell of a build, sorry I am no help!
Any details on what's in there?
Those are going to look fantastic! One thing I noticed when I ceramic coated my matte bronze wheels. The matte sort of went away, and with the heat generated, the ceramic coat itself developed cracks. Just something to think about, don't go too thick with it.
Agree with ^^^...Most guys regularly tracking cars are ditching CCBs and going to steel just due to cost. At least in my small world. Very few go the other way, especially at the GT/350/500/M1/C7/C8 price point.
BUT, I would hazard a guess a guy could tune the brakes himself, and probably copy...
There's already ways to get CCB on the S550s now. End up with a lighter caliper, more pad, and obviously the lighter rotor.
Unless stock for stock swap is the end goal.
It's hard to tell anything from the videos. I can hardly hear a sound, but if it's the clicking I hear, it sounds like a bearing. How many miles are on the car? Things I would start with, torque your sway bars (They need to be cranked on and will probably still make noise), strut top mounts in...
Agreed, I'm sure there's tons of reasons. The 19-20 are no more reliable based on anecdotal stories from here and TMO. And friends I've talked to with them.
I love my '17, bought it with 3400 miles on it. Will probably never sell it. But tbh, without the Voodoo, idk if it's a 350 anymore either lol
