Had to go back and read the original post again to see if the OP was talking about increasing value, track car, sunny day cruiser that makes you feel like you own the road, or just what was the question.
Appears to me that it comes down to which makes you feel that certain, "difficult to put...
I've always been successful using the phrase "pre accident condition" in any conversations with adjusters and shops about how my vehicle will be repaired.
I was in the same boat a while back when I had the GT350. My issue was that the base Vette looked like an exotic but sounded like any other muscle car and I couldn't square the two. Now the ZO6, on the other hand, sounds like it looks and seems pretty fantastic but there's a lot of extra $$...
Even if I had pockets deep enough, if I wanted to make it that modern, I'd just go with another GT350 and save $100K. But I do get the wanting the old look with the modern everything else. I'm still leaning toward searching out a nicely done 65-66 (like the look over the later years) thinking...
So does it change the equation if the "modern" car that you're driving is 8-10 years old and out of warranty. What's your thoughts on a 2019-2020 GT350, as that's what my other choice would be, having easier/less gremlins/issues to chase than a very nicely restored (I'm saying no shortcuts...
Pretty good synopsis I suppose, hysterical description for the Cobra and I would imagine pretty accurate too.
Cobra was never a consideration. Cool but nothing I would ever want to own and have no desire to drive one. Have had three S550 GT350s and love just about everything about them but...
So the tires are off the table huh? Ha ha ha ha ha...
Anyway, in answer to your question, yes, it's an either/or. I have just fallen in love with the classic Mustangs, specifically the '65/'66 fastbacks. It's a long way off though so I will have plenty of time for research. Don't get me...
You're not wrong. The whole thing begins with definitely wanting a 65/66 so that's the starting point. Only one way to know for sure. Like I said, it's purpose will be short, sunny day drives, local car shows and cars n coffee type stuff. Something to tinker with to get it closer to what I...
Girlfriend found a car show in Palmer, PA a few weeks back so we stopped by and first car we see pulling up. I don't care if it's a clone or whatever, just a fantastic looking car. Only down side was I did not get to chat with the owner as I was talked into grabbing drinks at the place right...
I don't disagree on the Cobra/Factory Five replicas being fun, they just don't do anything for me. That GT350-H clone I posted previously, or just about any nicely done fastback from 65 or 66, just presses all the right buttons. Then again, so did each of the S550 GT350s I've had. And therein...
Good, bad, or indifferent, if I get my way it'll be a Mustang out of one of the two stables I mentioned. Not going to lie though, I was intrigued seeing this until I realized how far it is from actually driving and how much time and $ it would cost to get there. ;
