Pretty sure that is a different module, the gateway is a CANBUS item that connects all the various control modules to the OBD2 connector. In fact it is integrated into the OBD2 connector. the communication module is in trunk IIRC and has a cellular signal capability.

So local dealer has been trying to connect to our 21 GT convertible since we bought it back in April. Today they decided it is most likely the gateway module. Their estimate is $600 to replace and reprogram. They said our Ford Premium Care service plan does not cover the gateway module...
