Mac, good choice on the 4-point Steeda brace. I started with it, and it was great. But my convertible was lowered an inch all around, so I had to go to the 2 point to get a little extra ground clearance. It was not as good handling wise, but still a big upgrade from stock. The rear suspension...
I recommend the front Steeda G Trac 2-point brace and the rear subframe alignment and bushing upgrades. Those 2 items tighten things up significantly without ruining your ride quality. Then add the CDC lightbar for style and don't forget to get a wind blocker - very useful accessory.
That's a nice car and a sweet deal! I had to travel from Atlanta to Tennesse to find my '23 earlier this year. I would have jumped all over this one if it had been available then. BTW if you haven't already, please post your thoughts on the differences between the M1 and your new Dark Horse.
Piss poor excuses. Ford could have done it. Think about the old school Shelby convertibles. And most M1's will never see a track. These are fun cars to enjoy with your family and friends for a large percentage of buyers. Plus companies like Steeda have solutions to make your vert handle with the...
Yes they work. Good with the windows down. Much better with the windows up. Love the Drive is a top choice. Had one on my '18 GT for 4 years before changing out to a M1. Damn why didn't ford make a convertible M1??
I'm with you on this. My '18 GT had the A10 and the ford performance tune. It was quick, very responsive, and the transmission shifting went from bad to pretty good. My new to me '23 M1 feels sluggish in comparison in all except WOT. Must be that factory regular gas tune. Changing that is top...
I'd be interested in your 2 pt G brace perception as well. I put one on my 18 GT and the difference was very noticeable. Thinking about adding it and IRS bushings/bracing to my '23 M1 and calling it a day on suspension mods.
Definitely subframe kit and strut tower brace if one didn't come with your car. Extreme GTrac was a very significant upgrade for my vert. Just be cautious as to ground clearance. I ended up changing to the 2 point brace for that reason. But in fairness my car was lowered an inch or so.
Not really a specific advisor. I've had several. It's the tech that matters in my opinion. I wish I could remember his name, but there is more than one person there who can deal effectively with modified cars.
Agreed! I have had mine for a couple years and really like it. I find that it extends the top down driving season. Plus even good weather drives are more fun when you don't have to shout at your passenger to be heard..
I have an '18 GT convertible and did the Steeda progressive lowering springs for about a 1-inch drop. I also did the Steeda struts/shocks that complement those springs. I'm very happy with handing and ride. No issues with camber/alignment. Tip - buy their new bump stops sized for lowering...
