Been using Amsoil for 20+ years. No issues. But lots of good premium oils to choose from. Proper change intervals based on driving habits and conditions is more important.
I have the same set of kooks and cats ordered. Very curious to see how this turns out for you as I'm considering the H delete as well! Cant wait to hear it! You will have to throw a clip on here! When you expecting your headers?
I would have to politely disagree. I am not impressed at all with the exhaust on my 500 other than in track exhaust mode. It sounds decent then. But the other 3 modes are slightly high pitched and tingy sounding. Also not very loud. Even my wife, who is extremely sensitive to loud exhaust...
I know... its craziness.... which is why I considered going catless/offroad! Just don't know if i want to deal with cel, exhaust fumes in cabin, and according to my tuner... a tune that's not 100% dialed in due to emission/epa restrictions.
What did u guys do for tuning. I know my guy says no way they can dial in offroad set up appropriately bc of epa restrictions. But he is willing to install and get it as close as possible within the emissions restrictions.
Hows the exhaust note and interior noise with catless version. This really peaks my interest. I'm assuming it throws a cel. I know Lund got hit by epa. Are they able to tune "offroad" set ups precisely or do they have to keep it dumbed down for emissions?
So having been down this road bc SW is much cheaper option. SW and ARH make quality headers.... the issue being their cats are your basic 200 hi flow cat. So not going to last. Kooks green cats is where the big difference is and why the cost is greater.
I've had this conversation with my tuner. Its my understanding that race cats will work but will not last. The kooks green cats are really the most durable and best option. But I'm sure @LETHAL can clarify or elaborate on that.
Thanks for the info. I think this is the route I'm going to go. My tuner, while not pushing or trying to upsale me, does agree the other mods are more beneficial but is concerned how the stock cats will handle the added HP, be a choke point, and just burn out sooner than later. So he is really...
So I'm going down the rabbit hole of getting my car tuned.
It started with just getting Lund 93 Tune, Kooks Headers with green cats, and JLT CAI.
Then my tuner spoke with Mr. Lund Sr and his suggestions led to a much longer list for max power gain while maintaining reliability. It included...
