  1. In over my head?

I can understand your first two points. A dealer would have their own mechanics to look over a vehicle if need be. If a customer wants a second set of eyes on the vehicle, they can bring a friend or foot the bill for a PPI elsewhere. I wouldn't expect the dealer to hand over the contact info of...
  2. In over my head?

When I bought my WRX, it already had some mods done to it. Nothing scary per se, but I still wanted to know top to bottom what was done and who did it. Looking at the car fax, it was only serviced at a Benz dealership and another Indy shop. Called the Benz dealer first to see if they could share...
  3. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Washed and waxed her; haven't had the chance since I brought her home two months ago.
  4. Ticket tales - tales of folly, yes, celebrations of reckless driving, no

Worst ticket I got was in the slowest car I've owned; a 2008 Mazda 3i w/ all of 100hp stock. I was 18 or 19 and just getting into modding and working on my car. After a cat-back, test pipes, CAI and header, my now 103 hp Mazda was ready for action; and any would be challengers. Installed the...
  5. EB to GT (Advice?)

I picked up my 2016 w/ only 4,8xx miles and the OEM shifter was by far the worst feeling shifter I've driven. The 1st to 2nd nibble was so bad, I'd have issues even getting into 2nd all together when the car was cold. 2nd to 3rd also had the bite but wasn't near as bad as 1-2. Locked out of 3rd...
  6. Anyone else keeping their S550 at/near stock?

I've had mine for about 3 months now and the only mod has been the MGW shifter. This is the most powerful car I've owned so plan on keeping things relatively stock until I get a little more experience behind the wheel. BMR Cradle Lock out kit might be the next mod then an exhaust pending what...
  7. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

That bolt did give me some issue. It was super tight in the stock unit. Fortunately, it went in with no drama to the MGW linkage. It wasn't until I Unbolted the exhaust clamps did I have enough room to work with that top bolt and the 10mm side bolt. Come to think of it, wasn't until I read your...
  8. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Took me a solid 4.5-5 hours over three days. Second shifter job I've ever done and the first on a car made post '69. If I knew all the tricks and what would and wouldn't work before hand, I could easily have knocked it out in 3. I completed everything with the front of the car on ramps and the...
  9. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Finished up installing the MGW X Spec shifter  Only went for a .5 mile test drive but a huge improvement.
  10. Deciding on an MGW Shifter

100% Called twice with questions and they always answered and gave detailed responses. I think I'm just most impressed with how well everything went in. The specs are just dead nuts on. It took me quite a while to get the stock unit out but the MGW went in and bolted up in less than an hour.
  11. Deciding on an MGW Shifter

About 95% done installing my Xspec Standard. I called MGW for guidance as I didn't want a super low profile; I was looking for similar height to the stock shifter and, after testing before buttoning up, I can already tell it's lightyears better than the stock unit. The throws are short and...
  12. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

I got my '16 with 5k miles on the clock about four weeks ago and came with the 1-2 & 2-3 nibble. Coming from a '14 WRX with a sts and upgraded bushings, I became accustom to the notchiness and precision of that gearbox; despite it being the inferior 5 speed. Changed the fluid with the Calimer...
  13. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Went ahead and changed the oil, rear diff and transmission fluid. Car has a little less than 5k miles on it but no record that anything had been serviced in the past; so I went ahead and knocked out everything for peace of mind. Also, ordered an MGW X Spec - very excited for that to come in.
  14. How many of you have NEVER owned a Mustang previously?

First American car, first Mustang, first V8 and first coupe. Owned nothing but JDM products before. Always had a thing for Mustangs and was pony car curious back in 2016. Test drove a '13 GT and loved the V8 and was surprised by the nimbleness; totally contradicted my previous beliefs about the...
  15. Help me in choosing my next mustang, gt or ecoboost?

Coming from a similar background (G37 and a WRX) do yourself a favor and experience a V8. You'll always have the 'what if' in the back of your mind and they aren't going to be around forever.
