i got the shaft and ball from sickspeed.com. they didn't have the shaft for the mustang on their website so I emailed them and they created an ebay item which I purchased. the screw on top of the shaft is 12x 1.25 so not sure if you have to drill out the knob you purchased. It is a push down to...

what's wobbly the knob or the shaft? maybe a little loctite would help.

manual trim replacement the post of mine in is the manual plate and boot, just the way it comes from the factory. i have the redline trim on the boot as it matches the interior. some people replace the boot with a new leather one but that's a lot more work and expense, not sure it's worth it...

i replaced mine with a new shaft and custom red knob(auto pattern etched on the top). Total cost from Sickspeed was $71.00. Install was less than 1/2 hour. I also replaced the auto trim bezel with the manual one for another $70.

I would think after spending $150 you can expect to get a product that doesn't look like it was used. I'd contact them and ask for the knob to be replaced.
