I agree. Too much grip for the designed components with drag radials - pretty sure the clutch failed on the GT500 for this very reason. Stock tires it should launch all day long with no issues.
Similarly, Porsche specifically states in the owner's manual that one is not to install slicks on...
It's funny...makes you wonder why they did not use NCM (Corvette Track) to showcase the abilities of the new C8. Simple - there would be no room for excuses. The GT350 R has a 4 second difference on that track with the C7 Z06 with same driver. If we knew the numbers of the C8 on their own...
Yep. I got taken off at Road Atlanta in my R.
NCM in Bowling Green is constantly measuring sound because the local residents are extremely anal - they measure and call in complaints constantly. The track officials even provide equipment at the track to slap on your car in order to reduce the...
Yes, that is normal when you barely press the throttle. Apparently, the resonators mask that gurgling sound because my '17 GT350R had it from the factory.
Here are a couple of videos I recorded on the same road before and after the resonator delete on my '16 GT350. This might give you a better idea of what the delete does.

I agree!
They also add 65 pounds.
They are installed for safety - all of the Ford Performance center cars are outfitted with them. IF you are taking a car to a track, you need a cage, regardless if it is a Mustang, Camaro, Vette, etc.
Yes, it was very twitchy and harder to lay the power down. The car had suspension issues as well as overheating and loss of power. It did sound good though!
To me, the ZL1 1LE is a better choice over the Z06.
Sure it can...my GT350R out lapped my C7 Z06 with Z07 track pack every time. My C7 overheated, among other things, after the second lap of every session 'til I got rid of it and kept the GT350R.
Funny thing about this comparison is that the numbers for the GT500 are from a production car being delivered to customers...the C8 is pre-production and theoretical at this point, not a final product. This is not a valid way to make a comparison of this magnitude, especially for MT. It will...
It would make sense that Ford can throw a contender in the ring with a 2 seat mid-engine car based off of Ford GT technology when that happens. Similar in nature with what Porsche did with the 959, CGT, etc. The R&D will pay off in the future.
A car with a proper DCT is amazing in its own realm, which makes it difficult to compare to a manual. Even within Porsche's own regular lineup, the PDK is different than the PDK in the GT cars - and yes, the standard PDK is not as fun and engaging. However, the DCT in the GT500 is in the same...
I am pretty sure the Ford Engineer making the statement about "venom" was speaking the truth from his perception and reality. I don't blame him, and actually agree to a certain extent. Most likely he was forced to retract his emotions due to the PC world we live in in order to pacify the butt...
