If any of you guys in SE Michigan have had thoughts about buying the Steeda jacking rails let me know. I ordered some before my engine blew up and they arrived today. I don't expect to have a running car again for quite sometime so I'd like to recoup my money if possible. I'd sell them for what...
I'm having a really hard time believing that my mods caused this. With cases of completely stock engines having the same problem to the same engines being modded out with larger turbos making over 400WHP. Everyone I talk to that knows more about this stuff than I do does not believe I could blow...
Faulty components, possibly warped heads. Ford hasn't said exactly what issues they're having but they're having engine issues with the Focus RS using the same engine. They talked about it in their last video.
I've been talking to a lot of people about this trying to get as much information as I can. I want to be as educated on this as possible so I can give it my best shot. I've now talked to two different companies (not to be named at this time) that have told me these engines are blowing up bone...
Thank you for the support Rough Hollow Man, I appreciate it. I should know more by the end of the week. Until then I'm going to try not to get to stressed out and let things continue to unfold.
I asked the service manager about that. He said that they found U codes in the log with the date stamp of Saturday the 7th and mileage of 4018. So we believe the print out shows the date it's read because the engine blew on Thursday the 5th and has been in there shop ever since at 4018 miles. He...
They have not given any reason. The haven't even sent anyone out to look at it. For now they're going off of what the dealership sent them. The dealership has no idea what exactly is broken because they don't tear them down.
The oil in the car was fine. I had made sure it was topped off after...
I have a tuner with a preloaded SCT tune but was not using them in conjunction at this time or any extended time. I did apply the SCT tune at one point because I was curious if the car shifted any better. I applied it and removed it less than an hour later. I spent more time loading and removing...
The BoostMax connects in between the gas pedal, MAP sensor, and the boost controller plug on the intercooler. If you have the PedalMax it connects to the gas pedal and then the BoostMax connects into it.
So it's not a tune but it does make an adjustment to the boost. When running 93 octane it...
I did have a sit down meeting with the service manager and general manager of my dealership. The GM is going to try what he can to help me with Ford but he of course cannot force them to do anything. I'm hoping he is able to help though because I'm not sure where to go from here. Ford customer...

Okay here is the update I was hoping I wouldn't have to post.. Ford has declined the warranty and revoked my entire powertrain warranty due to modifications. They fail to offer any proof that my modifications caused the catastrophic failure, they simply just say it's because I modified the car...
I had the great pleasure to hang out with Lyle and his wife Jean for 2 days over the Woodward Dream Cruise weekend. I highly recommend him as a salesman if you're in need of a new car! He is a great guy and a blast to spend time with.
My RS1 is on the right and his RS2 is on the left. :ford:
They've already sent the info to Ford so the ball is in their court to grant or deny the service. I have a good relationship with the guys at the dealership and I hope they continue to do nothing but take good care of me.
Thank you for the well wishes, hopefully it ends up okay. Worst case...
After the first oil leak it was 2 quarts low but I topped it off. From there I checked for leaks and the level on it every other day and it was good. Then when the leak happened again I checked the level and it was still at the top line. I drove it for a day and a half without any oil leaking...
Stopped by the dealership today and got some news. There is a hole blown out of both sides of the bottom of the block. The pics and info have been turned over to Ford and we're waiting for the go ahead to order an entire assembly. I wasn't given a reason why it happened but it's pretty obvious...
I've had issues with the PP PZero tires in cool temps. They really are great though when warm out but very scary when cool. Once this set wears out I'll buy a set that isn't so hard in cool temps.
